Question. Why do people want to be ripped when they’re destined to become a lot weaker over time?

It’s a lot more advantageous to work on experience, cunning, overall quality of life, etc.

Doesn’t matter how strong you are when someone stabs you in the jugular and you bleed out like a bitch. Accidents happen. Circumstance and coincidence kills.

Even someone significantly weaker than you, can kill you, using basic sense. It doesn’t matter how strong you are.

Yeah, well, you’ve never heard the saying “the brain is like a muscle”? No? Never?

Being able to think on the spot, to think critically and to avoid something from happening, is a lot more advantageous than being strong.

Guns removed the need for close combat. A frail old man with a shotgun is going to kill a roided bodybuilder every time. Same with a can of pepper spray or hornet spray.

Smarts and cunning and the ability to think and plan accordingly is next gen warfare even—to prevent the fight altogether. Or to end it as soon as it starts.

The future of warfare is a fat greasy fuck masturbating behind a computer screen as he directs drones a thousand miles away to bomb “innocent” sand people.

Why the hell do people think muscles are going to matter outside of industry? Why not plan accordingly? A carefully laid out trap or contingency can take out many adversaries. Pic related.

Cunning IS the superior fighting.

I once stopped and talked to an 80 year old guy jogging up a mountain i was hiking down. He said each decade of your life, you're preparing for you health in the next decade. Staying in shape will keep you in shape basically. I will be 80 years old jogging up mountains and lifting weights. If you dont stay in shape you will be one if those crippled old people.

Yes you’re meant to move. That’s a no brainer. But you don’t need to be ripped to be healthy. Mental health is also important, and ties into physical health. You feel good because you are good.

Hilarious that you posted an image of Nietzsche because he would disagree with every single point you are making.
He wanted people to make every moment of their lives worthy of the infinite. He wanted people to enter into adversity for its own sake. He loves those who are undergoers because they are also the overgoers.
On the contrary, the people who resign themselves to mediocrity and comfort are what he termed 'the last man'. The most contemptible humans on earth. You OP.

doing resistance training is critical for anti-aging, no other form of exercise is as beneficial.

Being cut isn't necessary, but having as large muscles as possible as you get older is extremely important.

If muscle is so important as you age, why do the people who have lived the longest not exercise? They’re just doing daily routine, living activities, etc.

Forgive me if it's a dumb question but I’m genuinely curious. The people who seem to live a long time don't seem to focus on exercise and building muscle mass. Just doing daily activities and moving a lot. Like riding a bike. The oldest woman in the world rode her bike and smoked at the age of 105. She credited her life to… chocolate.

The argument for this I've heard is that humans store the most mitochondria in their heart and brain, not in their muscles (like gorillas). The brain retains itself a lot longer/better than muscles.

If you look at the populations that live the longest. All of them live lives full of work. Be it gardening/farming or even just living in towns that have high elevation changes and a lot of walking. It’s just general life.

When you work a desk job 9-5 you have to have an efficient way to simulate your brain to compensate. Old people retiring isn’t a good thing. They slow down.

For most people their training and diet are things they undeniably have personal control to change for better. Like sure, you cannot have choose the best genetics or you might not have money to buy the absolute best foods, but you can at least do a bit better and see some results and it's up to you. That said, you are not "really doing anything" by going to gym or eating better, you are just doing personal maintenance.

Maintenance feels like you are doing work, but it isn't work in a sense that you don't get more money or friends etc. Doing maintenance doesn't do anything by itself. Cleaning your room is also just maintenance even if it feels like work.

Yeah like I commented previously, it's pretty little spoken fact that people pick up this kind of a hobby because diet and gym program are stuff you can undeniably control, at least to some extent unless you live in total prison conditions.

It might be that "kids" as in soon middle aged people today are more sick than the previous generation between now and ww2, because the ww2 trauma stuff were not properly handled and boomers could just cope with increasing materialism and go to work and buy shit.

Too bad a lot of traumas in 3rd gen are coped today by just not having kids so these kids don't have to come here and suffer. Or maybe in some cases it's for the best.

Question. Why is this an issue for you?

If someone has the wish to build muscle, and has the willpower and dedication to put the time and energy needed to do so into doing that, and are doing so out of their own volition how could anyone begrudge them that choice?

Each individual has the option to pursue the perceived idealization of their own self-image in the manner of their choosing as befits their personality and temperament in any way that does not impinge upon others, whether it be on a intellectual or physiological level, or a combination of both.

Do you feel that if an indivual chooses the physiological level, whether if be for a perceived aesthetic goal or the idea of enhanced longevity, at the expense of what you may consider the more optimal goal of worldly attainment, this is threatening to you?

Does it make you question your own systems of belief?

Nobody is saying you're invincible, but being stronger and harder to kill doesn't hurt. You can do both. Most people that say dumb shit like "heh, you should workout at the library instead!" are usually pseudointellectuals at best anyways. They usually don't have any impressive wit or cunning, no gravitas or personality, and rely on midwiticisms like this as a cope because intellectualism is not outwardly apparent like physical acumen. Everybody knows you are weak, but they have to talk to you to know you're a dumb bitch too.

> better sleep
> better themoregulation
> takes 2 hours per week (it's not like you're losing precious time for other endeavors)
> harder to stab you in the jugular if you can overpower someone

I'm not sure why people think it's one or the other. Everyone on earth has 2 free hours per week. The truth is people who work out tend to be more intelligent than those who don't, it's because not working out stems from a lack of motivation that's indivicative of a lazy mind as well. Socrates was fucking jacked btw, it's the first thing anyone who met him would notice.

Again, your inability to read shows. A gun will still kill you, but that doesn't mean you have to make it easy. A body conditioned to operate under strain will perform better under strenuous circumstances. If you aren't killed outright, you will likely fare better. There's literally no downside to being in better shape. You simply lack the will to do so, because you are a pseud.
