One month back in the gym/pool after 5 months off. Only lifting consistently for ~8 months prior to that.
Working on evening out my shoulders. Left is much smaller due to injury on forearm. I really want my abs back and I train core like crazy but I think my first month back really benefited from 200g protein/day. 6 foot 185. I think i will be really happy with my progress if I can keep this up another six months before trying to cut. But swimming does help me not get too fat. I try to swim 3 mornings during the week in addition to my lifts. Then another swim on Sat or sun.

At 2.5 years though you're capable of achieving more. Are you pushing yourself to failure? Are you following a routine? Are you getting enough protein? And finally, you should test your hormones to make sure your testosterone levels are good.

What you need to do is not skipping a single workout and meal, try to to get at least 200g of protein in per day, better if a bit more. Fat is 1g or less and rest is carbs. Start with 3000 calories and go up by 100cal each month.
For the gym you wanna hit everything twice with correct technique and volume, for example chest 6sets per workout, 12 week.
Get a small A5 book and a pen and write down what you were able to lift and try to beat it each session with mostly correct technique. Always same exercises, same sets and if possible same order.
If you did not skimp on your meals, you barely can do a rep more each time or at least half a rep. 2.5-3min rest between sets. You do less sets but each one is like a penalty kick.
