Are the “strength standards” charts bullshit?
I’ve been training for 4 months now
>130lbs
>5’11
>never calculated my max deadlift but I lift between 65-75lbs for 8 reps in one set, with 75lbs being my end weight for 3 sets
>following http://newbie-fitness.blogspot.com/2007/01/stripped-5x5.html?m=1 but instead of 5x5 I do 3x8 for each exercise (16 if the weight is too low in one set)

This chart
>https://exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/DeadliftStandards
says that a sedentary (untrained adult) can lift 115 pounds in a deadlift at my weight class.
I’m confused as fuck, what am I doing wrong? Apparently “novice” means training for 3-9 months, so how the fuck am I unable to lift 115 pounds while someone in my same weight class who doesn’t train can lift the same amount? Is it one rep maximum?

Seriously I’m just lost, what am I doing wrong?
If need be I’ll go post my body for you to see my muscles
>eyecatching webm unrelated, chart says that a fatass like him should be able to lift almost 200lbs untrained

No
Again what am I doing wrong?
My form is correct, I just recently bench pressed 37.5lbs for 8 reps, using a online 1 rep max calculator this should be 46.6lbs maximum, but the chart says a untrained adult at the same weight range can do 100lbs

True, a girl or a child.

It sounds like you have fuck all muscle. Can you even do a push up? That should be equivalent to benching something like 60-70% of you body weight.

I can do 20 pushups fine
I think a picture of my body is required, so time to roll a trip and prove myself.

Simply put, you haven't actually trained at all, not even once, let alone for four months.

Just do Starting Strength. It's so easy.

what does “training” actually look like then
>just follow starting strength
I’m 99% sure the guide I linked is a derivative of that guide, I’ve been consistent with my routine

You posted an A/B workout which is nothing like starting strength and you do look like a teenage child with your baby chest hairs.

I could one rep 225 DL the first day I walked into the gym as a low T hentai gooner. All your lifts are pretty bad.

>>76296335
at least you posted a body pic so I will give you advice
Eat more, sleep more, and train harder. You shouldn't even be having progression problems with the current weight you use. Also, read the sticky newfag.

>eat more
I don’t know what to eat, or have the money to afford it. Protein you can’t really eat in excess or it has diminishing returns for weight lifting plus I’m not really hungry.
>sleep more
I already sleep 9-11 hours each day
>train harder
More reps or sets? How do I know if it’s enough? I haven’t been giving 100% since I don’t have a squat rack or proper bench press, my squats are limited to 40lbs because it’s the maximum I can manage to get onto my shoulders using my arms.
>you shouldn’t even be having progression problems
Well that’s why I’m confused, the guide I’m using is linked here
>http://newbie-fitness.blogspot.com/2007/01/stripped-5x5.html?m=1
It’s listed in the sticky so I did check the sticky, I just don’t bother browsing /fit/ since I’d be ridiculed and lose interest in trying to continue if I post here constantly.

go to a real gym, buy the book and do the program as written.
