Good luck, anon.
I won't try to scare you but it's not a good disease... and what people should understand is that the testing is complex. For example, the test has "bands" idk the exact number, 5-6... so, if you take the test after antibiotics, you may have fewer bands potentially or if you test first time... you could have less than all bands, and you could get a false "ALL GOOD" when in fact, you have lyme.. lyme includes a host of other bacteria and stuff that can cause lingering nerve related issues.

Jim Miller in the UFC, I think he has the most wins ever, was diagnosed a few years back and he's still been fighting. Cheers gl.

Five years or so ago I got like 12 ticks lashing onto me after a day hiking. Only after leaving the woods and stopping to rest on a bench I noticed them on my legs and upon lifting my shirt I noticed them all around my belly too. Went full panic mode and instead of removing them carefully to take and make sure the heads did not stay in I furiously scratched them off my body with my nails, then went to the pharmacy and bought hydrogen peroxide to wash the bites on the shower.
Spent a few days freaking out about lyme but even more so of encephalitis, fortunately nothing happened.

Since them had another handful of tick bites but so far so good.

a while back I had a roommate who insisted this too and I though he was bullshiting me so I looked into it
the tl;dr is Lyme has existed in nature for a long ass time, naturalists from the 1700s record the bullseye rash being associated with tick bites, BUT there are also military records of the US govt air dropping ticks en mass onto Cuba during the cold war and god knows our govt did some shady shit
so I don't think it was created in a lab but it probably was made more debilitating around that time
could also be why some people are affected so much more than others, you have both the natural and "government enhanced" strains floating around

I have faith in a higher power, a purpose to us and the entirety of the universe being here; many spiritual and metaphysical beliefs seem reasonable and possibly factual to me, but I just can't, for the fucking life of me, see how tick-borne (and by extension insect-borne) diseases can fit into any of this.
Getting mauled by an animal? Sure, it's the circle of life, the thrill of survival, one creature taking lives to sustain its own. Dying of a standard disease? Yeah I mean you should get out and enjoy life because you could croak at any moment. Getting killed in an accident? Not nice at all but we brought this upon ourselves with our inventions, no one else to blame. It's all events and trials whatever.
But tick-borne diseases? The tick sucks on you, you either pick it off or it falls off, it couldn't care less about what you do afterwards. It's a total nothing burger happening-wise. But it can kill you for some reason?
If it weren't for these, imagine how much fun you could have running around in the grass, lying and rolling around, wandering in the forest. But no. You either spray stinky chemicals on yourself, wear long clothes and remain paranoid, or significantly increase the still non zero chance of getting one of a multitude of debilitating, possibly fatal diseases every time you're outside in nature. Good job. Why couldn't it have been just a flu? Worst fucking invention in the history of Earth.

It took me around 6 months after I went to the doctor before I felt fully normal again, I think I was "stage 2." After the first month or so I was probably 80% back, but for a while I would still occasionally get hot flashes or get abnormally hot while exercising. I honestly don't know how to make the recovery quicker, imo the best you can do is basics like eating and sleeping well and trying to ease back into your normal physical activity. If you have any deficiencies, address them. I also noted that alcohol affected me differently for a while (as in I would feel abnormally bad in the hours after drinking), I'd recommend avoiding it.

You idiots always paint a God as some omnipotent all powerful entity in your convenience to say there aren't any when things are inconvenient.

A being that embodies such a concept called "God" is simply one that just exists above your order of existence and authority over things, but nowhere does it imply it is above everything nor that it has complete power over what it can control.

>>76308349

You idiots always paint humanity as some fallen from grace species in your convenience to generalize it as evil when things are inconvenient.

Throughout recorded history humanity always had fucked up people, we just see it more as there is more of us and better means to document it, but their existence does not mean there were no good people, for we would not know "good" from "evil" were there no examples of both to begin with. Even that which is defined as "good" or "evil" hosts a mix of aspects of subjectivity and objectivity where the fine line is nigh impossible to draw in a universally accepted spot due to the inherent self-interested nature of those that exhibit life.

I cast great doubt on your "naturalists from 1700s" story, but regardless, it's definitely weaponized. Not only did it cause me itching, pain, and nausea, it straight up burned my skin. I have legitimate burns from that shit. Not normal at all. It was like someone was holding a lit lighter to my skin and there was nothing I could do but an ice cold shower. Bro, you pop the fuckers body off immediately and dig out the head later. If you wait for it to detach, or force it to detach, it regurgitates some of the blood it's slurped up to unlock its jaw. This jungle juice of animal blood gets spit into your body and that's where lyme disease comes from.

it takes two test, that's the standard and you have to take both.
the first is notorious false positive, but together with the second test it's reasonably accurate (40%) at early diagnosis.
Which is the largest problem with Lyme period.

If you test too early, they won't see Lyme.
If you test too late you will 100% see Lyme, but you will have increasing side effects that last for months/years longer.

here's what you do if one of these fuckers latches on to you. don't squeeze the body or try to tear it off right away.

step 1: don't panic.
step 2: get some tweezers and grab it by the head. it's got a jagged sawblade mouth sticking into you and it's going to be hard to pull it out. it will usually pop out suddenly with a good tug.
step 3: if you are paranoid, save the little bastard in a plastic bag and have it tested by a doctor.

when you're out hiking- wear long pants, long sleeves, and if you need to, tuck your pants into your socks so they can't get under your clothes. they also fall from trees into the neck of your shirts and latch on to your back. so after you go hiking in tall grasses always check yourself for them. take off your shirt and don't forget to check your crotch. they usually don't attach right away and you can just brush them off if they haven't started sucking your blood yet. if you don't want to deal with ticks then stay out of tall grasses and thick brush.
