I can’t work out without it for pulling exercises, otherwise my hands slip off the bar after about four reps (especially pull-ups). How do other people manage? Don’t their palms sweat too?

The muscle that's limiting my lift is the one that I need to train the most. Straps prevent me from doing that.

I just started using them a few weeks ago and I love em. I used to think that if my grip strength wasn't good enough it was my own problem, but as others have said, grip strength is simply going to be a limiting factor when progressively overloading larger muscles effectively. I also have really sweaty hands so it helps a bunch with that. I even use them for weighted dips just so I can get some extra padding so my hands dont hurt so much. S tier gym accessory.

Use them when your grip stops from you from adding weight to the bar. Hook grip is shit. Reverse grip is a recipe for bicep separation, or elbow or shoulder strain. Double overhand only. Strap up if you can't complete the set without the bar slipping./thread

They're a cope. An ego stroker if you will. You "can" lift more weight because you're attaching larger muscle groups to the bar instead of relying on your grip. Sorta like how you can move faster by riding a scooter or something. But in a real situation, if you don't have a scooter, you can't run as fast as the scooter would take you. If you don't have straps, you can't lift as much as the straps would let you.
Common No-grip-copes:
>well i don't care about "real world strength"
okay... so if you need to open a pickle jar you can look like that one fat grifter manosphere podcast retard. if you need to move furniture you can look like a pussy while it keeps falling out of your grip. or if you need to pick up a car that's crushing your child you can let your kid die. the real world doesn't matter, right? bad things can never happen, right? and sorry man... you're not gonna be carrying your straps with you everywhere. even if you did, they wouldn't conveniently fit onto real world objects.
>well i don't want my muscle or strength development limited to my grip strength
people can deadlift 700lb double overhand no straps, no hook grip. unless you're approaching that, you wouldn't be limited by grip strength. furthermore, is the hand not part of the body just because you or jeff nippard say so?
>um umm um but you can train grip separately
yeah you can train every body part separately and do infinite isolations. anyone who uses this cope always has a shit grip and you never see them actually doing separate grip work. you can do supplemental grip work on top of never using straps, but pretending like you can min max different body parts in a better way than holistically training your body is fucking stupid. you will never lift more than your grip allows because you're literally not lifting it if you're not gripping it.
>buh buh i actually have a significant development disability or injury that makes me not have fully functioning hands
look up grip training prosthetic

As long as you're only using them on sets where grip will be a limiting factor, and you still do your lower weight sets and other exercises like rowing without, it's fine.
If you feel like your grip is failing even on the latter ones, squeeze in some grip work at the end of your session. I used to do plate flips with a10 or 15 kg plate, I believe it helped

the grip is the most important muscle group of the human body, and if you're not training it then you are legitimately retarded
see >>76305574
iirc this is a diagram showing the amount of neurons responsible for each body part, with more neurons = larger size and vice versa. our hands are how we interact with everything.
also see labourers who've never been in a gym in their life, the only muscle group that is exceptionally developed is their forearms, usually moreso than gym lifters. ain't no straps in the jungle, son.
