Numbers don't matter. Getting big doesn't matter. Getting shredded doesn't matter.

It's about proportions and what looks aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. The appreciation of beauty as a virtue. Athletic performance and functional strength always came second but even these have been tossed to the wayside in favor of raw numbers jerking which produces vile physiques and is relatively useless in day-to-day life.

/fit/ should have more in common with /ic/ than any other board, yet it doesn't. You are an artist and your body is the canvas. Anything else is a meme.

Numbers don't matter when it's all about looks.

I lift to look like the models I study (and also to fuck men, but mostly the other thing)

I always found the powerlifter "functional strength" strawman funny. Like it's really natural to progressively stack weights on barbells all made in steel mills and compete in three lifts with exact rules on how to move made by governing bodies' consensus. lol. Nobody in a gym is doing anything in accord with nature. Raw lifts and bodybuilding are two sides of the same coin.
