OP, you need to avoid loading heavy weight on your back. End of story. If you want to work your legs, Leg Extensions, Seated Leg Curls, Standing Leg Curls, and Split Squats are ALL YOU NEED (Bulgarians, DB Lunges). You're not going to break the powerlifting record or get your IFBB pro card. No one gives a shit how much you can squat.
You can do Leg Press machine or some other squat like machines, but even Hack Squats compress the spine, which what you are trying to avoid. ANY LIFTS THAT COMPRESS YOUR SPINE. You're already a manlet, don't add to it. None of these other people wanna see you succeed but I do.
