OP, you need to avoid loading heavy weight on your back. End of story. If you want to work your legs, Leg Extensions, Seated Leg Curls, Standing Leg Curls, and Split Squats are ALL YOU NEED (Bulgarians, DB Lunges). You're not going to break the powerlifting record or get your IFBB pro card. No one gives a shit how much you can squat.

You can do Leg Press machine or some other squat like machines, but even Hack Squats compress the spine, which what you are trying to avoid. ANY LIFTS THAT COMPRESS YOUR SPINE. You're already a manlet, don't add to it. None of these other people wanna see you succeed but I do.

Squats and deadlifts do not cause blocky cores lmao. Fucking retards. It’s genetic, you have a narrow waist or not. Doing a lot of core isolation work/obliques can make it worse though.
Also if you aren’t putting as much effort into lats/traps/shoulders you’ll just look blockier. A lot of people will squat a shit ton but have trash benches and overhead presses.
All of the greats of bodybuilding did deadlifts and squats with extremely heavy load, but they also did upper body exercises and had small waists. But yeah it comes down to genetics
