Build strength first, and then do hypertrophy with lighter weight (would be heavier than you lift now, tho). Recomp and spend the time (it's arduous) to cut the fat.

My routine is squats, leg curls, calf raises, abductions, ab wheels, incline bench, lateral raises, pulldowns and rows, separated into lower and upper body days.
I'm doing 2-3 sets of each since like 2 weeks ago, but before I was doing every set to 0-1 RIR + 2 drop sets after, so I had like +5 day DOMS. I could do like 2.5 days a week as a result.

It's not super minimalist but it seems fairly limited. I think it's a matter of frequency and calories as you said, but open to feedback.

get a copy of jeff nippard's fundamentals program. if you don't want to buy it there are pdfs floating around online. all of the programs in there are great. i used them for my first 2 years of training. look up jeff nippard's videos on bulking/cutting diet, but honestly watch as many of his videos as you can. bulk for as long as possible before you hit like 22% body fat, then cut down for 2-3 months, bulk again, repeat. geoffrey verity schofield is another youtuber to look at for advice. as a natural lifter, bulking is the best state to be in for training, period.

Sugar is very low calorie compared to fat just get rid of the fat especially with snacks. You can make all kinds of stuff very low fat or even fat free. Then the fat will drop off. Highest 370, now sitting at 296. Luckily I was lifting for 20 years while eating too much so I gained a load of muscle even when I was natty. Working with a coach now to get stage lean and just see what it looks like even with the loose skin. Maybe get the surgery after and get the scars tattooed over.

It's a Shane but you came to the right place, focus on hamstrings and glutes. You want to do squats, lunges and leg curls. Ensure you're getting enough protein and fat, I recommend whole milk, at least 2 cups in the morning and evening. You'll fill out quick and you'll find pretty soon the red cross stops coming around to give you HIV shots and dewormer like all the other African children. In due time you might even be able to go outside with shorts on in the summer and not feel cold.

Trust me when I say keep going and you'll know when to stop when you get there. Look at yourself and say yeah, this is good.
My original weight loss goal was 25 pounds ago. I got there and realized that I was still quite fatty, and I had no idea what a good body fat actually looked like on me. Because I was also working on building muscle, I had no idea what that actual weight number should be. Just keep going until you're genuinely pleased with what you see. Don't sell yourself short on how quickly you can do it, as long as its sustainable for you do it but dont go too easy.
