>>76335286I've grown up here my entire life in the mountains and plains of TN.
not as bad as you think. Sweden has it way worst for some reason.
usually about 2 ticks a year, you just have to practice vigilance.
keep yard cut short, plant bushes and plants that deer are not attracted to and promote diversity in your yard.
lavender, lemon plans, etc all have chemicals that disrupt mosquito and tick ability to breathe in oxygen (hormone disruptor) so you plant those.
ignore tall grass faggots "natural yards"
literally no such thing, the forrest is a forrest. you can't just let grass grow and say it's natural. might as well plant concrete.
a single butterfly bush does more for honey bees than a thousand little shit grass flowers.
Woods are basically something I don't go into anymore during summer.
in winter i've never gotten a tick. just doesn't happen. they don't stay above ankle high brush at that season and i'm always wearing boots at that point.
unless the brush is heavily thick no way could a tick survive because freezing temperatures means no humidity above ground.
same as extreme heat kills ticks because extreme heat == no humidity due to evaporation
