veggies are fairly expensive considering they provide basically no calories
but still, dried beans, a meat like ground pork or dark meat chicken, and whatever carb is perfectly fine and cheap, so they really don't have any excuse

I don't think they're necessarily talking about fruit or veg when they say that but those high priced "healthy" yogurts or ready meals or protein drinks. Let's be real the average overweight normie isn't cooking their own meals

It's not. But it's way fucking easier to eat 300 calories of chocolate, 300 calories of potatoes chips, 300 calories of microwavable burrito, etc. than it is to do anything remotely reasonable with a vegetable. One food is literally grab and chew, the other requires getting a pan (ewww).

If you stick to stuff like onions, carrots and local seasonal veggies you can still get a lot for cheap.
The thing is you can get a lot of processed calorie bombs like ready made lasagna that are way more convenient and at first glance look cheaper. A lot of people seem to lack the capacity to think long term about cost and health.

This. This is what fat faggot retards think /fit/ people are eating all the time, that or salads (LMAO) or gay bullshit like quinoa or whatever. In reality we're eating chicken breast with rice/lentils and an apple, pretty fucking easy and cheap shit. You could get insanely huge eating nothing but Costco rotisserie chicken if you had to.

you already are by maintaining a lawn
for a lot of vegetables you can just plant them in the spring, cover them with mulch after they've grown a bit, and then harvest when they're ready. will you get the best yields? no. is it less effort than mowing your lawn every week? yes

Orange juice is fake and like $12 a gallon, you never notice it because you buy it in less than half gallon containers for $5. Recently I gave up on the orange jewce and started just buying oranges to eat instead, and they're way fucking cheaper by volume. Everything is cheaper when you buy the whole raw ingredients.

Fatties can't comprehend the future. All they know is the craving they're having right now, so they'll see $74 to cook a healthy meal vs whatever goyslop costs.

They can't comprehend the idea of being able to make more than one meal from the ingredients. Thinking ahead is a completely foreign concept for them.

Not gonna lie, eggs would really up the price, its the only reason I didn't include them since I was budgetting for under $100 per week. Do agree that as you get more into dietting you can add apples, eggs and probably some dairy like milk or butter, but as a baseline having healthy carbs and proteins works best for the noobie

I have a friend with tons of chronic gastrointestinal/organ problems who just got out of the ICU for like the 5th time this year. Next to no stomach left, pancreas is digesting itself, cirrhotic liver, kidneys aren't great, intestines can hardly absorb nutrients at all, but on top of it all he insists on eating heavily processed garbage that his body can't handle and it puts him right back in the hospital.
He was trying to justify himself to me, kept telling me about how frozen food and junk food is the only stuff he can afford because produce and raw meat is way too expensive. I didn't argue with the guy because he's probably gonna be dead within a couple years anyway and I know the doctors have already tried to change his diet, but I just can't imagine thinking like that and using it to justify spending $30-$50 a day on takeout and frozen dinners, especially when it's literally killing you. Lots of poor people genuinely think a head of broccoli is like $20 and they're better off just buying frozen buffalo wings and hungryman dinners.

I still get chipotle sometimes, though the individual ingredients are cheap as fuck. I've made copycat chicken bowls to decent effect, minus the red salsa. That shit eludes me, and using store bought just doesn't hit the same.
That said; chicken, peppers and onions, and rice open you up to a lot of satisfying meals if you have the right sauces and salsas. Pretty much every dish uses salt pepper garlic. I'm lazy, but I want to go through the grocery store website and fill a cart with staples just to prove the fatty cope wrong.
