i stopped buying cigarettes for starters
21mg nicotine patches. might need to start with 1.5 or two depending on how much you smoke. you can also do one patch with lozenges on top as needed, so then you have something to give you an on-demand hit like the cig used to. it sucks for a couple days but it's worth it
buy on amazon or online, buying from a local drugstore costs 4x more than it should
>>76361031 (OP)literally just dont put a fag in your mouth
>>76361031 (OP)either just quit and accept that your next 2 weeks are going to be shitty, or slowly decrease the nicotine intake with vapes
>>76361031 (OP)Just don't do it. It's that simple. You will not manage to do it until you accept this simple fact.
>>76361031 (OP)Gun to mouth and press trigger. Its as shrimple as that
>>76361041>>76361043>>76361101>>76361449It's literally that simple. That's how I quit.
Whenever I felt like having a smoke, instead I didn't.
Couldn't be simpler.
>>76361031 (OP)why do you want to. apart from smoker's lips there's no discernible downside
>>76361031 (OP)switch to vaping then nicotine patches, finally be free from it all
Do the patches, as instructed. You don't need to augment the process in any special way to suit you. That gives opportunity to your addict-brain to make up shit like you "need" more or "need" something different. Get the patches, enjoy your last cigarette one night, and the next morning when you wake up tell yourself you don't smoke any more. That's not who you are and begin and follow the patches regiment until you ramp down to zero nicotine and then you will be free. There will be some short-tempers and a few odd dreams from restless sleep but it's all fleeting. I smoked from 17-30 years old and I'm 38 now. It's been 8 years. I still like the idea of smoking and miss it but haven't touched one in 8 years. It's just not me anymore. You don't have to hate it or hate your past just move on from it.
>2025
>can't quit smoking
bro you have zyns and nicotine gums and vapes and losenges and fucking everything at your disposal. I quit in the dark times when you had to just scream at your wife and co workers to get through
>>76361031 (OP)Don't smoke. Also start chewing tobacco instead if you still want some nicotine in your system
I think have super powers, I smoke cigs from time to time but I just donโt get addicted. I can go days without any urges , I only smoke because I like how they feel when you had a couple of beers.
you could start with some filter tips to help wean off them
you know those times you get really sick with a cold or a flu and dont feel like smoking at all?
and you can go like 2-3 days without smoking because you really dont feel like it
last time i had a flu i used the momentum to quit cold turkey
as said, the first week its easy peasy as youre sick as a dog and dont want to smoke anyway, hardest part done
after that, just dont buy any
some willpower, and youre done
>>76361048>next 2 weekshell lasted (gradually, of course) about a year for me but go off
>>76361031 (OP)So the thing is, cigs are addictive because of all the bullshit used in their manufacturing. Real tobacco isn't addictive (been smoking cigars and pipes for years) maybe switch over to one of those to ween yourself off of cigs.
>>76362322physical dependence doesn't last more than 2 weeks. if it is in your head, you will have to figure how to deal with that yourself.
Hey anon, I also struggled with all of the other techniques in this thread, so don't get down on yourself. I used chantix, which honestly made me want to puke every morning and gave me crazy call of the void type fantasies, but if you can white knuckle it for at least two months you will not be addicted to cigarettes by the time you get off it. Use it as instructed, cigarettes won't be goos to you after about a week and you'll just naturally stop. The drug takes away all of the bullshit withdrawal symptoms and replaces them with the side effects so if morning nausea, crazy dreams and sometimes thinking about driving into a ravine seem more manageable to you like they were for me, I highly recommend.
>>76361031 (OP)why would you want to quit though?
>>76362449>hey how do I beat addiction>figure it out yourselfyou're like the kid in class raising his hand just to say "I don't know"
I am convinced that tobacco companies shill stealth marketing on this (and other) websites
>>76362534idk, learn to meditate or something. i never had any issues with psychological addition, that seems weak as fuck to be honest.
>>76362481You smell like shit all the time, rots your teeth, damages your DNA, ages you, gives you cancer etc.
>>76362549then why did you answer like you knew it all, anon?
>>76361031 (OP)Hey i just made the booze thread. I quit 18 years ago on the day my first was born. Actually cigars helped. Then i got sick from then
Then nothing.
Hard part was going to bars and smoke breaks. U will do it-promise.
>>76362606i told you how to get rid of nicotine addiction. that's what it means to quit smoking. if that's not enough for you, the problem is not the smokes, it is in your head.
>>76361031 (OP)If I managed to lose fat doing nothing but fork putdowns, surely you can quit smoking by doing nothing but cig nolights.
