I did it for a while (about a month) with pretty heavy weight, even bought one of those faggot ass rucking backpacks. It literally did nothing and is a complete waste of time. If you wanna walk, then walk. If you wanna hike, then hike. If you wanna jog then jog. But this isn't anime land where you carry a bunch of weights around everywhere and once you put them off again you are super strong and fast. Plus, check the countless reports of military men complaining about wrecked joints. It's a fad, being sold as, yet again, some super secret technique that changes everything like those faggots saying you turn into Arnold by just doing burpees alone or those retarded ass "science based lifting" exercises.

lol I can tell you’ve never seriously rucked. Try going 10+ miles with 50-100lbs up-downhill and not on a nice flat road. Then add jogging with that weight into the mix. That’s how the military does it and no amount of “training” will stop all of that from destroying your body at record speed. Even under the best conditions it’s horrible for your knees and hips. You’re literally simulating being a morbidly obese person who everyone knows have major joint problems and need extensive surgery if they are obese for most of their life. Weightlifting ain’t shit in comparison and causes minimal damage over your lifetime in all but the most extreme cases

For exercise I generally walk for 10km, why would I walk farther with weight than what I walk without weight? Also it is a rule in backpacking to not carry more than 20 percent of your body weight. I believe in observation of these two rules you can "ruck" without exploding your joints.

When I was 13 in Boy scouts I did a 2-wk hiking trip where we did ~8 miles daily with 50lb packs on in rugged terrain. My joints were perfectly fine and I weighed like 130lbs. If you're a grown man you should be able to work up to more weight for longer distances without exploding your knees. If you destroyed your joints then it's a problem with your programming and recovery, not with the activity.

Put 50lbs of gear in your pack and actually go hike 30 miles in the woods like a real man. Hang dumbells off the back of your pack and drink the tears of ultralight nerds.

When I was a fat fuck I did about 65 miles a week with a heavy pack and lost about 100lbs of fat over the course of a year. Had to start out doing like 20 miles a week but worked my way up quickly once my legs got conditioned.

Now that I lost the weight I just do a 50 - 70 mile 2 day hike about once a month over a weekend. Keeps the weight off without effecting gains too much.

Do it in low/zero drop shoes for disgustingly large calves.

A rucksack, assault pack, or a good hiking pack. They're made from stronger materials than a regular backpack, and should clips on the straps so if they snap from the weight it can be easily adjusted or put back together.

If you try to throw 30lbs in a regular ass Jansport or something, it's gonna rp sooner or later. A backpack made specifically for carry loads won't, and can basically hold as much as weight as can fit in the pack. I've had to ruck with 120lbs of gear and it sucked ass.

I did it regularly for like half a year maybe almost one year. ranging from 20-35lbs sometimes more shit really did fuck up my shoulder and back to some extent.

nowadays I just run or cycle. if I wanna walk I will still ruck but not do it all the time for example a 1hr ruck will be like 20 mins backpacking then I take it off my shoulder and just front carry it for another 20, take a very short break and repeat, etc...

basically just hold it while walking in whatever variations u think good

Same for putting a ton of weight in a regular backpack.

If you're gonna carry a ton of weight you need a pack that's distribute the load into your hips/pelvis so your spine isn't even really in the equation. This means a pack with a frame (internal or external frame doesn't matter), hip belt, and load distribution straps.

Even those military style ALICE packs are hell on your spine. Gotta get a legit hiking backpack or a non-shit military rucksack (the kind service members have to go buy on their own from a third party not some 5.11 garbage or something a gravy seal would buy to go larping)
