Serious Q: if you WFH or are a NEET, what's stopping you walking 40-50k steps a day at home?

For 14 years it was mental illness and apathy keeping me from it
I'm still mentally ill but apathy faded for some reason
40-50k is kind insane
Most I did was 9 miles a day last winter, now I do 30 minutes on incline treadmill like 4-5 times a week, I think that's gonna be my baseline. Longer walks outside when it's not 100+ degrees outside too, though

What is the purpose of walking that much? Why is it better than running 1-3 miles which doesnโ€™t take all day?

treadmills/pacing around the house is too boring
i need a destination
the best i've done so far is 88 km last week
i'm not gonna be able to do that twice in a row since i was lazy monday through wednesday

walking inside is not the same as your feet hitting concrete. the only thing comparable is jogging in place, inmates do it in their tiny cells. you will feel it in your ankles and lower leg after some time

I do walk 10k steps a day at home. And every second day I lift at home.

40-50k steps a day is 4 hours of walking a day, anon. Fuck that.

well I work from home. emphasis on work. can't be just walking all day I need to sit down and focus
ngl my job is easy and boring but still needs at least a minimal amount of concentration that requires sitting down in front of the computer
