>legs are the most functio-ACK
What is the perfect body for fighting? What muscles are the most important for manhandling, dominating, and beating someone?

How come none of these pro fighters have the powershitter builds like Jonnie Candito and chrisgonlift?

More of these guys can bench 3pl8 than squat 4pl8.
Top row of guys rarely, if ever squat and deadlift. Middle guy can't run on pavement without injuring his knees.

1) they all compete in weight classed sports, where excessive muscle (but not strength) is a detriment
2) you can have very strong but still slim legs, especially if...
3) they're all very tall, I think Usman here is the shortest and he's at least average height, most of them are heavyweights well over 6' for which it's going to be difficult to build massive legs

Punching power comes from the hips and legs so although he may have shit genetics for bodybuilding, he's definitely got power in those legs.

Overused quote, it comes from the ass not the legs. As much as it comes from the legs, increasing your tricep strength by 50% would be more beneficial for punch power than increasing quad strength by 70%, and increasing core strength by 30% would be more beneficial than both.

I sincerely doubt he benched 655. He only did 30 reps with 225 in the NFL combine. I've done 28 and my best bench was 420lbs.

A certain school of thought in sports trainers these days is to only train in the range of motion you want/need to be strong in. So fighters don't punch from bent over, at most just a half crouch, so full ROM isn't needed. Makes it easier to recover from and fit more training in because less total work is being performed.

This is not even cope, that 'deadlift' (rack pull actually) is not impressive for a guy with his proportions/size
Struggling to lock out
cross grip
wearing a belt
no eccentric
It's a bit over 2x bodyweight, if he did it raw off the ground with better form it'd be a decent lift

It's a rack pull but he's also standing on a platform and 6'4. The range of motion is still large enough for it to be impressive.

The Klitschkos apparently can't bench above 130 kg, but you have to consider their height, extremely long arms and that they never max out, so for that a 130 kg bench is pretty good.

Are you fucking stupid? Punching power comes from torque, and you can't do that sitting. Punching power is all hips and core. Walk into any boxing gym and ask them if they squat. They'll laugh in your face.

>b-but Jon Jones
Jones got into powerlifting when he was banned from the UFC for 2 years. He doesn't lift as heavy when he's training for a fight, according to Jon himself.

I can't tell if you are trolling or if you are actually some retarded larper but your legs plays a huge role in punching. Like the anon said, trying sitting down and punching and let him know if your punching power is still the same. God damn, there is even technique in how to use your legs when punching

Your punching power literally comes from your hips and legs turning over, your arm is just the end of the whip
If you dont turn over your body and roll with every punch you're just doing cardio

stupid question
the better question is: who would have a stronger punch, the guy who trained mma for 4 years but never tried squatting in his life or the guy who strength trained for 4 years and squats 500lbs but has never thrown a punch in his life?
nobody that has a good punch won't be able to squat the barbell, that's why it's a stupid question.
