Anyone ever had this? I broke it a month ago but the doc says i shouldn't lift until september. He said I should wait more for boxing etc. How can i keep my upper gayns? I am doing just legs and core

I'm 33 now. Broke it as an 18 year old. I lifted too early and delayed it healing.

Rest the reccomended amount or it will last longer and rob you further.

It will take a while for your grip to recover and the broken hand will always be a little weaker than the other but you can lift to the point where it's not noticeable in a year September you won't notice but you'll always find it'll be the wrist to fail you in a big deadlift.

I wish you a speedy recovery brother. Work on your cardio until September.

Thanks bro, i will be patient then, it is also my dominant hand so I tend to use it involuntarily but i will pay extra attention

Flexing + imaginary + mimed workouts (big focus on the latter)

Use bands and tie them below your elbow/wrist? Can probably do most pull/push exercises. Around the elbow would be safer to prevent forearm muscles from engaging. Don't use too much weight though, accept that you will likely use some muscle, just try to mitigate the damage.

I tried to mime some workouts as if i was lifting slow and heavy and it gave me a sort of a pump. That's pretty cool, thanks!

i broke it last may, kept benching and squatting and deadlifting(with straps) for like a week before i went to a doctor. got the surgery and pretty much just trained legs until the cast and shit was off i think six weeks later, gains didnt suffer that much and came back really fast so seriously dont sweat it too much you'll be completely back to regular upper strength/size in probably 8 weeks total

>8 weeks total
my bad op im retarded and i was thinking about something else, i think it was more like 16 weeks total from break to moving regular weight, but no matter how long it is, just dont lift til doctor says youre okay, thats what i did, and then once you can start lifting again its just a few weeks and the gains come back surprisingly fast

I've had a boxers fracture before. They wanted to put me in a gypsum cast for 8 weeks I said can I get a lighter splint or something so I can still use a computer mouse (last year of my bachelor degree) they said no so I said fuck you nigger
Healed perfectly fine in a splint, you need to have the ring finger and pinky kind of splinted together and your pinky knuckle bent slightly, you can find them on Amazon.
I recovered and went back to lifting after about 5-6 weeks. Don't push it, if you don't let it recover fully your pinky knuckle will forever be fucked

I had this three years ago, it took about five months before it felt normal again. I took it easy with light weights/high reps for a long time, maybe a full year before I went heavy again. It was a pain in the ass but I was scared of fucking myself up, so I guess it was worth it.

Yeah I fractured that bone in January 2023. September is very reasonable.

Follow the MEAT protocol
Make sure to perform activities and use very light weights. If you don't use it the bone may not heal correctly

General rule is that whatever the doctor tells you split that in half and do that. If a surgeon tells you that you should wait 6 months before lifting again, you are probably fine to start in 3 months. 98% of the doctors are overly cautious fags.
