I'm convinced that all of the people who started feeling better on the carnivore diet actually just had IBS, and would have had the exact same effect with a low-FODMAP diet.
The good news for carnivores is that you can slowly re-add FODMAPs one category at a time and find your personal sensitivities. Lots of people can even just return to a normal balanced diet afterwards.

Roids are only part of Liver King's problem. Some of Bryan Johnson's meds are slowing down his speed of aging, others are speeding it up. Try comparing their relative zinc and copper intakes, this might give you the first clue of micronutrient problems.

Your body works differently in ketosis. Burning carbohydrates for energy is much more inefficient than burning fat. Basically every study out there on carnivore has established that your body can function just as well on lower levels of potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C while doing the diet, and if anything not eating carbs improves some of your blood vitamin levels.

>fiber
fiber is a meme, again if you aren't eating carbs you don't need any fiber whatsoever.

Nobles and aristocrats weren't eating feasts of rice lmao. Do you actually believe that? Those man-made foods are a very recent addition to the diet and until the 20th century and the marketing industry they were subsistence foods for poor people or literal slaves.

I don't even like to use the word "carnivore" it's so redundant. Just eat normal natural foods that we are adapted to eat, which is basically animals. Nutrient bio-availability in whole foods is all the hard proof you need as to what foods you are adapted to eat.

If there's one thing I've learned about blood tests for nutrition its that the results are almost always bullshit. The reason is the levels of nutrients inside cells aren't reflected in blood levels, while concentrations across the body may vary. So with potassium, you can have minute levels constantly flowing in and out the cell, and showing up as "normal" in the blood, while having functionally impaired levels throughout the body.

The best way to know if you're nutritionally deficient is to look at your diet, imo. Cause blood tests are useless and you only develop severe diseases from poor nutrition when something is completely absent (very rare.) Sub-clinical levels of nutrients will be almost impossible to diagnose by the average doctor. Nutrition isn't even covered in med school.

here you go, almost 44, carnivore 7 years, low carb before that, no supplements or drugs. I don't count calories, cut, or bulk. I just eat to satiety every day generally red meat, lots of eggs, fish and small amounts of local dairy. Only junk I consume is the occasional coffee and when out socialising.
"Carnivore" isn't restrictive in any way. That's as dumb as thinking any species is eating "restrictively" for only eating what its adapted to eat. The framing is the opposite; you have decided to expand your food sources to modern, unnatural, and inappropriate sources to fit some arbitrary and ideological "balanced diet", which is not how any animal should eat. Why don't you go and eat grass and cardboard too for more balanced diet points?

You picture has grain fed, farmed eggs of fallus gallus domesticus native to southeast Asia, meat and milk of grain fed, farmed bos taurus from Turkey. Neither of these resemble the average hunter gatherer died of wild, lean game and vegetables/seasonal fruit homo sapiens and erectus before them practiced for hundreds of thousands of years.

If you're going to appeal to nature, at least do it right. Zoom out.

It's not *my* picture dumbass. I'm not OP. Hunter-gatherers ate eggs. Your post doesn't even make sense. You're making the claim that because some animal products are factory farmed and grain fed, that it's impossible to eat naturally? I know you're probably north american and therefore have no access to normal food, but where I live in Europe almost all meat is outdoor raised and we have wild caught fish. The majority of eggs on sale are free range too, there isn't large demand for barn eggs.

This idea that hunter gatherers were eating veg in any significant quantity is pretty stupid too given how toxic they are in wild forms (almost pure fibre with much higher concentrations of phytochemicals).

Many nutrient levels (like potassium, magnesium, calcium) are tightly regulated in the blood by homeostatic mechanisms, meaning serum levels may look normal until stores are dangerously depleted. Thatโ€™s true.

So yes: a "normal" blood potassium doesn't rule out tissue-level or functional potassium deficiency.

"Levels of nutrients inside cells aren't reflected in blood levels."
Mostly true. For many nutrients (e.g., magnesium, potassium, zinc), intracellular levels matter more for function, but are harder to measure.

The standard blood panels don't capture intracellular nutrient status well unless you do specialized testing (like RBC magnesium or organic acid testing, which is uncommon and not always well-validated).

>Hunter-gatherers ate eggs.
They ate wild eggs once in a blue moon, not famed eggs on a regular basis.
>You're making the claim that because some animal products are factory farmed and grain fed, that it's impossible to eat naturally?
Yes, it's not possible to eat naturally by getting your food from the supermarket. The natural hunter gatherer diet did not include domesticated, grain fed cows and pigs. Wild game is naturally much more lean, both because of their diet and activity level, with a lot less saturated fat.
>I know you're probably north american and therefore have no access to normal food, but where I live in Europe almost all meat is outdoor raised
I am european as well. If you think cattle in europe isn't fed with grains you're simply delusional. Most cattle is absolutely not raised outdoors, even grass fed cattle is supplemented with grains and it obviously doesn't have activity levels anywhere near that of wild game.
>and we have wild caught fish
Everyone has, and wild caught fish is indeed one of the few products at the grocery store that would belong in a hunter gatherer's diet.
>The majority of eggs on sale are free range too, there isn't large demand for barn eggs.
You're absolutely delusional, most eggs consumed in any country are not free range. You can get free range eggs, but that doesn't imply they're entirely grass fed, just that they aren't in cages all day.
>This idea that hunter gatherers were eating veg in any significant quantity is pretty stupid too given how toxic they are in wild forms (almost pure fibre with much higher concentrations of phytochemicals).
Jesus fucking christ retard, cooking has been an integral part of human evolution for an estimated 1 million years. Even homo erectus cooked, the improved efficiency of calorie extraction cooking provides was a major factor in how we evolved into homo sapiends. You literally have zero idea about evolutionary history, read a fucking book.

Also blood tests aren't meant to look into someone's diet, but mainly to check for abnormal levels present in diseases and afflictions. Blood tests aren't proof of anything, but correlate with the presence of something.

If he was consistent for years, he wouldn't have to use the same image over and over. If his diet worked and kept him healthy, then there'd be no problem in posting a current image. But it doesn't because it's a fad diet, and people who do fad diets lose weight and then regain it, which he probably did, which is why he won't post a current body image. Anything else at this point is just cope.

You don't want excess carbs in your body, that's the whole point. That's not carbs in excess.
If he had some more fiber in that meal, that'd basically nullify it by reducing the spike to the blood sugar.
Yeah potatoes are some of the worst carbs you can have, so eat a small amount of them.
The meal needs a higher ratio of veggies to fruit, but it's absolutely nonoffensive.

>make a salient observation
>"erm you're just being passive aggressive, chud"
Anyone that's spent any time researching human protein requirements and protein quality will immediately be able to tell that "balanced" diets are insufficient for optimal metabolic function, much less for body builders. There is a reason everyone has to chug down protein shakes - all foods except meat (and even then the vast majority of meats) do not provide sufficient protein / calorie ratios to fit into a "balanced" diet, maintain healthy weight, and get optimal protein intake when you're chugging down 1000+ calories a day of empty carbs.

If you want to spend every day eating canned tuna and chicken breast and protein shakes just to function and build muscle, go for it. But don't be surprised when other people look at that and tell you you're a retard and that the concept of a "balanced" diet is stupid.

Looks good to me. I will continue to eat a wide variety of foods in my diet. Trying to cover anything I might need: lean protein, fruit, veggies, dairy, oats, rice, and some eggs too. I like to eat all my food groups because I refuse to fall for any diet in particular. Although I guess this could be called the balanced diet.

Do yourself a favor and learn how to think critically. They compared the fiber content of steak to that of plants. A retarded comparison to make, considering steaks aren't known for being rich in carbohydrates/fiber. Among other reasons, I didn't like this documentary. I can't quite remember why else I didn't like it.

I've never understood this cope about cows you really think they give them grains instead of ranchers letting them roam around and eat random ass plants? It's one of the most retarded things I've ever heard in my life. We have tens of millions of acres of rangeland in America. Probably more land than your entire cup "continent".
It cost $10 per month per cow for a rancher to lease the land to let them graze. I wonder how much grain a cow would eat in a month probably hundreds of dollars of it.

Strawberries aren't meat, cheese isn't meat, milk isn't meat, butter isn't meat, eggs aren't meat. You're an omnivore.

why not just eat food that isn't inflammatory in the first place, like red meat?
