What's the deal with fat women that are always on some soul-crushing weight-loss diet but are never actually losing weight?
Anonymous No.76412755
People reward themselves with snacks all the time for any little bit of exercise they do
Fat men do it as well

They give up after 3 days and try again 1 year later

gimmick diets are an excuse to not eat less while still thinking they'll lose weight. The only diet that works is "less food."
Anonymous No.76412763
Not counting calories properly, people severely underestinate the amount of calories from sauces, olive oil, etc. Also just secretly cheating on it

I've seen what OP describes on my stepmom. She actually is always eating some small shitty plant-based meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has only *gained* weight over the years.
God I hate that dumb bitch.

my gf is pretty big, counts calories pretty meticulously and hardly loses any weight, I have no explanation for it, she should be in a deep deficit
I think some people might really have it hard to lose weight, I don't think that many overweight people eat hardcore amounts of calories every day

Yeah, fatties unironically stealth sneak in food when no one is looking
I know I did the same, while still talking to my family that I'm eating 100% clean and all that

She either counts wrong or cheats.

If you're not losing weight you're eating too much. There is never anything more to it than that.

yup. secret snackers. my mom is one such case, literally unable to stop herself from stealing my food. i'll make a lunch for the day after and she'll raid it even though she's retired and stays home all day. i don't mind because i'm currently rent free but god damn it's crazy how food driven these people are. that being said if i get hangry i become a menace, but at least i don't binge eat. i'm also on a blast so roidrage might have something to do with that.

The big thing I see with fatties actually trying but failing to lose weight is that they always eat unappealing food. Kale salad is fucking disgusting, and I couldn't imagine eating it daily. Not gonna lie, rice, chicken and broccoli is so standard and consistent I'm surprised they haven't caught on to it. It is newbie territory for sure, but at least it fucking works. Plus you can just add some fat/sugar free sauces to it and you can season the chicken. Better yet, doing a fried rice with egg gets even more protein. Smh

My aunt did the same. She's a great person, but definitely has some mental health issues she smothers with food.
During COVID lockdown I was staying with her for a while, and she was doing keto at the time to try to lose some weight. She did the same "I'm counting calories but somehow I'm not losing any weight" thing, but being around her all day every day I noticed all the ways she cheated. Yeah, she'd eat 3 healthy meals a day that (mostly) omitted carbs and sugar and probably added up to 1500-2000kcal total, but there was also a ton of snacking and probably a dozen "oh I'll just have a little bit of this" moments every day. Here she was very much adhering to strict meals and complaining about how hard it was to go without carbs and how hungry she was all day, but from what I saw she was stil easily hitting >3500kcal and a non-keto amount of carbs every single day, she was just doing it in ways she counted as negligible and hid from everyone else.
Outside of a select few extreme cases, no one is the exception to thermodynamics.

Mine is the same, but two days out of the week she’ll get drunk and eat a bunch of bullshit. Worse thing is she has a pretty high tolerance. She just spins her wheels basically. That’s also why it’s important to never get fat in the first place.

being on a soul-crushing diet isn't sustainable.

people get fat, hate themselves for being fat, try to punish themselves with a soul-crushing diet, then inevitably fail to keep up the diet because it's soul-crushing.

then they binge because they're sad they fucked up, gain more weight, hate themselves more, and loop through this a few times a year.
