Kettlebells honestly do not help with anything other than kettlebell shit. It definitely didn't help my time with running a mile, it doesn't help with any of my lifts, it doesnt help with my flexibility, I would say its only good for a warmup. It might be good for dyels who are just starting but definitely not for anyone who is serious about improving some aspect of fitness.

You can do a bunch of really goated compound lifts with them but people pick them up once and find them too awkward to hold so they say they're shit.

I think also crossfit kinda gives them a bad rep because, well, crossfit...

If I could only pick one weight to use, it would be kettlebells. Lookup anyone online who shills kettlebells and they're all fucking ripped.

you're clearing up a confusion that nobody has. There are "kettlebell exercises" like the Russian swing or the Turkish get-up, and you can do those with other weights (anything for TGU, clubs more easily than dumbbess for swings), but it's the exercises that are the issue.
>>76438858
Kettlebells are a bit of an attractive nuisance: get this one thing, in lighter weights, and you don't need a lot of equipment or a gym or a trainer. That's very appealing to someone just starting out. But the movements are subtler and more dangerous, and anywhere you look you'll find people subtly fucking up with kettlebells instead of benefiting as much from them. What appears as a shortcut to the same end is really an alternative to a different end, and one that's harder to get help with.

Kettlebells are GOATED for endurance and conditioning, they pretty much obsoletes dumbbells especially if you're going for minimalism too.
They were never a tool for raw strength, which I believe is what the bald roidtranny powertard is complaining about, I am not giving it a click.
(They can be used for some strength if you buy them heavy enough, but they can't substitute the completeness of a barbell deadlift)

And fwiw, from that perspective he's correct - kettlebell swings won't get you big nor strong, neither will bosu balls, and while heavy carries will blow up your traps, there are exercises with better RoI
It does however ignore other legitimate reasons to do these things, chiefly general athleticism

Stimulus for what? For size, yeah you'd need monster bells. But the systemic stimulus of doing snatches for time are good for general fitness and longevity. The neurological stimulus of cross plane movements from any sort of swingy thing, be it bells, sandbags, clubs/maces, or rope flow shit is legitimately good for your brain.
A good program should include all the stimulus you can: for muscles, soft tissues, cardio/metabolic, motor/neurological.

Not the same anon but here's my take.

Don't go to failure with kettlebell, that's not the main purpose of them. They're for strength endurance (farmers/labors working ALL day type shit). Picking up the weight for 5/10/30 minutes WITHOUT putting it down. The average DYEL only needs to get up to 40lbs for swings for 10mins to 30min and they'll be pretty stronk by the end of the year (do volume cycles).

Great compounds are:
-TGU and TGD
-Clean to squat
-Snatch
Adv Bonus: Monsterlifts
https://youtu.be/eHdjJExPMW0?feature=shared

Biggest issues most have with kettlebells is that it's a skill.
They:
1. Don't learn the rack position correctly(pic related)
2. Slam their forearms on cleans/snatches
3. Don't keep their elbows close the their body on recycles

This.

Bodybuilding is so fucking simple that 50 years ago even the dumbest most retarded meatheads imaginable easily understood that you are just lifting fucking weights and the more you put in the more you get out.

These grifters are retarded with their never ending needlessly complicated bullshit, but its a filter test anyway that weeds out retards who spend 3 hours a day scrolling fitness shorts on youtube instead of going to the gym.

Only problem is now you have a bunch of overconfident dyel retards that think they're fitness experts telling everyone "the rules" of lifting despite looking like they've never stepped foot in a gym.

I think these kinds of videos lead to alot of limiting belief systems that end up stunting all growth and progress because
>omg I dont use kettlebells I saw the video that said they're bad
>don't do cardio either read about how its bad for gains
>also i dont touch cables or any machines, I learnt they are bad from youtube
>rest is important, I did my one set to failure, now it's time for my 1 week off to rest, rest and recovery is the most important aspect of training, you actually make bigger gains by not working out!!!

Consume enough of these retarded fitness slop videos and you'll end up believing everything you do in the gym is bad and wrong, the more you "learn" the more close minded you become and you just end up putting limitations on what you can actually do.

I've crossed swords with that anon before, I believe he's Russian. My memory isn't perfect but I think the gist of it is that the benefits from whole body LISS, specifically to VO2Max, require more time and alternating tension/relaxation of alternate limbs (think of how you pump your arms when running, and the example he gave was with tennis). By that metric long cycle doesn't do that and it's not in the zone for HIIT.
I don't know if I buy it since 10 minutes of just hand to hand swings or 10 minutes of alternating snatch seems like it does well for me, but that's the reasoning I was presented, so it did in fact seem like a formed opinion and not a dumbass troll.
