False.
>and barely gives any gains anyways.
Again, false. It's not a magic pills but the extra gains are there and noticeable.
That being said, it's not necessary and you don't have to take it if you don't want to.

The hair loss shit looks like a rare side effect despite clinical trials saying its straight-up fake. It's neuroactive at high doses. We know all this shit now. Has anyone recently started supplementing something less normie they like?

5g. Creatine's benefits cap at that. Also no loading phase, the benefits of a loading phase range from non-existant to almost insignificant at best.
>timing
There's no solid evidence that creatine timing afgects its effectiveness, however a recent study shows that taking it post workout might be better.
Also caffeine might negatively impact creatine, so space your caffeine intake from creatine as much as you can.

The water is inside the muscle, so it's not what you think of when you typically hear "water retention". It's not water under your skin and you don't feel bloated.
>and there's some mental benefits too
There have been some studies showing it can help cognitive ability

It also helps with recovery and strength. There is absolutely zero scientific evidence that it causes baldness. But there is a 25% chance that it will do nothing for you. But the placebo is still powerful.

I think it's worth it if you aren't dirty poor and consistently lift.

I usually start to notice the effects around the third week.
BTW, you have to take it daily, not just on lifting days, for at least a month and a half, but I'd recommend three months straigjt. Afyerwards you can skip a day once in a while if you want. It takes roughly six weeks for your body to flush out creatine entirely once you're fully loaded.

It helps your muscles recover better by sending water to them.
That's the main purpose.
It helps you not be sore in the morning, which helps you feel better about working out. And that keeps you working out.
There's a tiny ATP boost and you might get an extra rep in but that's not the point of Creatine.
Creatine kicks ass.

Creatine is something used by the body to create more ATP from ADP. Without enough of this, your body just creates more ATP through other ways. It just makes sure you have a normal workout.
If you can't "feel" it working, you might as well stop drinking water since you can't "feel" water during a workout either.
