Something similar happened to me. Growing up I never really measured myself, everyone just said "Oh you look like you're about 6'2" so I assumed I was. Years later I got measured at the military recruiting office. Turns out I'm 6'0" even without shoes. Still taller than most people I run into a daily basis, but goes to show there's a kind of height inflation that goes on with men. Guys who are barely taller than me will say they're 6'5" or whatever.

I'm 5'8 (in Germany) and wanted to kms for it, but I recently noticed how negligible height differences look from the 3rd person, as compared to 1st person. I feel tiny next to my best friend who's 6'4, yet in reflections/photos the difference looks completely fine and normal. My older brother is 6'4 while I'm 5'10.

He absolutely slayed in highschool, but I found /fit/ and turned bodybuilding into my entire personality from age 14-21. I've weighed more than him for all our adult lives (he's a soccer dude, so fit but relatively skinny).

While I'll always seethe a bit over how easily he gets matches on tinder just from putting his height in bio, I've actually had more luck with girls IRL in my 20's than him. Having family members who are tall is a good anti-blackpill to the absolute height-obsession you see on the internet.
