Squat/bench rack
>>recently hit 2 plates for 5 reps.
I could NO WAY in hell do that in March when I started TRT. I couldnt even do 2 sets of 10 at 135lbs.
I couldnt even
Anonymous No.76482996
At first, of course, I didnt really see any results...but in the last month or so it is REALLY coming in. The TRT is working bigly. Test levels were at 390 when I started, last I checked they are at 950.

Nice, man! You have way more space than me. I need to organize better.
How old are you? Im 47 so this TRT is really helping for sure. Whats your max on bench? I have a partner (my GF) so I can really push on the bench to failure and beyond. I have safety bars as well so thats a plus. Get a P if you dont have one. I like to do reps until failure, then do SLOW negatives and have my P help me on the way up (concentric) if that makes sense.
Hell of a gym! Fuck fighting traffic and people for equipment!

225 lbs bench? itll literally take less if not half of a year to bench that.
225 kg deadlift? that might take 3 years sure
225 kg squat? also might be possible in 3 years

I'm 30 and am creeping my way up to 170 bench right now. I do 5X5 barbell incline and try to add 5LB on once a week when chest day rolls around and a standard dumbell press that's 3X10 at 130LB. I'm getting there but it takes a lot of time. Maybe I'll start adding failure reps into my barbell routine, just paranoid that I'll end up in rekt thread on /gif/ somehow.
And I appreciate it, this has been my pet project since February, I live in an area where there are no gyms within a reasonable drive from me so I've been sniping stuff off of FB marketplace when I can find it at a reasonable price (at least 4/5ths off of MSRP) and a reasonable drive away

>>76483289
I've only been at it since February and got stuck at 140 for awhile but after starting creatine I've been climbing up a little at a time. Maybe I'm not doing something right but its the journey not the destination mang.

Only thing I can say is get a partner. If only on benchpress day. By yourself you (in my experience) only do what you comfortable with, leaving gas in the tank. You CANT do that. You HAVE to go until you cant, then your P steps in and helps you on the way up, then do one or 2 more the same way...THEN do negatives...slowly.
You have the gym (very nice one at that) now you need a P.

Anonymous No.76483643 >>76483694
>>76483612
Surely!
The eccentric part of the move. On bench press, you push the bar up (positive or concentric motion) then you come back down (the negative or eccentric part of the move).
So when I do it, I'll go at it alone until I start to run out of gas if you will. I'll then have my partner start to help me on the up motion (concentric), then she leaves me alone and I'll do the negative (eccentric) part of the move real slow...this is when your muscles will start to SCREAM, begging you to stop, but KEEP GOING. Have your P help you on the concentric again, then do the negative (going down) REAL SLOW.
So today I'll do about 215, but only 6 reps or so until I start to need help, I'll have my P step in at that point and do the negatives. SLOW.
Yep!

It will. Most people never think of the negative movement. They may go slowly upward, then down quick to reset to go up again, totally skipping the benefits of the slow negative.
Lots of cool TY shorts videos on the slow negative.

This used to be a garage as well. The windows were where the garage door was. The A/C is on the opposite wall. The entire room is roughly 11x22.

I’ve replaced a few things, and added a few I’m sure. Not pictured are two 45’s (had them sitting on something I was glueing together, lol), bench, elliptical, a few pulley attachments, probably some other plates…

Pic is from 2021.

If you're training hard, taking your last couple of sets to/near failure, you wouldn't be able to do a similar exercise as efficiently as the first.
The 3 back to back curl variations are easy to single out because they're all isolation movements that mainly target the bicep. I know they're not equal, but unless you're a bodybuilder with actual weakness in your development you don't have to worry about that

I used it today with my wife and we both liked it. The only thing that we dislike is that its a little wobble (percussive maintenance with a hammer fixed this) and one bolt it a little long so I'm replacing it with a shorter one today. Other than that the pads are comfy, my legs burn in the correct places, the hinge mechanism is good, it articulates well for whatever position you want and my weights stayed where they needed to be

Nice! Mine will arrive soon. I do squats and shit, but always liked the leg extensions, felt more of a connection with those and makes my Vastus Medialis POP and really expose itself. I have good legs from the get-go so Im really into doing them. I see you have a trap bar. I got one too, but dont like it like I thought I would.
