cause it's advertised as pec exercise and pecs are strung along rib-cage and can't work properly with retracted shoulders and u wind up with enormosus lats and deformed chest with void in the middle and below clavicle
>what else?
fucks ur posture and your shoulders for no reason whatsoever cause nobody needs bigger lats lol
>muh back
no, u do not need bigger lats, u need to release scapulae from the grip of cue:
>shoulders down and back
scapular circles and associated mobility is what u need, ur lats are just fine lol

>so how much do u bench?
no clue and very proud of it, shoulders also feel amazing when not hurting all the time with slightest overhead task

>>76491320
no bot, it's fake robotized traffic proving the same sodomite OP bot wrong
>>76491323
why does it NOT work with moderate to light weight bot? yes u said the exercise is shit bot and u don't even see it :D
>>76491330
ok, explain then why is it not working with moderate weight, what is wrong with it bot :D ?

pictured is what grows chest, cause u work pecs with protracted shoulders and in completely different plane

if you want to talk about for aesthetic purposes, it's not really a natural movement warriors of antiquity would train, large chests are "unnatural" and that kind of movement is not encountered in labor or combat, unlike movements where you have to pick things up, pull things toward you or press them over your head

So yeah it's useless to train bench press because it has no practical application outside of bench press, and it's not considered aesthetic except in modern times after bench press was invented

Because you're insecure about the amount you can bench and wish you could have done 2pl8 for reps already so you mislead everyone into believing that it's bad so that maybe (only the most popular lift) gets irrelevant. Good luck with that fatty, all you can do is excuse yourself from everything and make yourself feel better while being built like a 1:1 lego brick piece.

The bench press, as a hallmark of gym culture, is often performed with the intent to enhance one’s appearance or compete with others in strength, which can conflict with the Islamic principle of maintaining sincerity and humility in one’s actions. Unlike traditional forms of physical activity (e.g., archery or horseback riding, which the Prophet encouraged for their practical and communal benefits), the bench press lacks a clear connection to serving Allah or the community.

this is sort of right but kind of schizoid

if you do heavy bench presses you can absolutely make people fly when you push them
i accidentally did it to a guy that was aggressive towards me, he flew back and fell and i got a autistic moment of "i don't know how powerful i am"

Rugby players train bench for this reason

Fighters will train bench (emphasis on explosive reps) for punching power. You can see videos of Fedor doing standing bench press with just the bar

The retarded "ancient man didn't use his chest" meme is from staring at pictures of that one flat chested bronze age lifter from 1910

In my experience, many people who struggle to build their chest doing bench have poor posture, often a rounded upper back (thoracic kyphosis) & limited chest and shoulder mobility. You can test this easily: have them perform a bench press and describe where they feel the most contraction and tension, then compare it to ring push-ups or even regular incline push-ups. It’s not that push-ups are inherently better, but they allow the spine to stay more neutral, the scapulae to move naturally, and the pecs to take a greater share of the load. Gravity and body position make this easier without conscious effort. On the bench lifters who start with a kyphotic posture typically have shortened pecs, protracted and elevated scapulae, and internally rotated shoulders before the first rep.

Yes, sprinters often incorporate bench press into their training routines, though it's not the primary focus. Bench press helps develop upper body strength and power, which can contribute to better arm drive and overall balance during sprints, leading to improved running speed. While not specific to sprinting, the bench press can have positive neurological effects that can translate to improved running performance.

You could not be more wrong. Everything you just said was absolutely incorrect. Bench builds chest. Everyone that actually lifts and benches knows anecdotally that is is a fantastic chest and tricep builder. It does not develop big lats.
