I rarely get sick, but when I do it's always the same strong cold or flu so my advice is only for these 2.
Heat, lots of heat. You need to sweat a lot, drink hot tea, take electrolites, chicken and vegetables soups are a godsend, also lighter meals, but still eat your caloric intake, your body needs the energy to fight the disease but if you eat too much it'll divert the energy to digest the food. Don't fight a fever, unless it's over 39°C for at least 24 hours, but let it do it's job. You'll feel like shit for a few days but you'll recover quickly.
