Reminder to not do deadlifts and squats as they can ruin your back forever.
I was 20 and recommended starting strength by /fit/ dogs. Went and did deadlifts for 3 months.
Now at 31 I have two degenerated discs in the lower back and the surgeries for them are the worst surgeries a human can go through so I'm fucked.
Just don't do deadlifts or squats please (srs)

They're fine to do as long as you do it with the proper form and aren't retarded enough to lift more than your body can handle
I'm sorry to hear about your back problems and I hope things improve for you

I frequently max out squats and deadlifts, and my back has never felt better. Just don't wear a belt, and strengthen the lower back and core, and it's fine.

Im scoffing at you. I knew they are only good if your form is perfect and i always made sure my form was absolutely perfect. back is not designed to lift hundreds of kgs 24 times a day off the ground.

yeah most are lucky and some end up like me. not worth it as you can build muscle with 50 other exercises that dont run the risk of destroying your back forever.
