Has anyone given up bench press completely? What did you replace it with?

I did deficit pushups for a while. I do them on rings also. Pushups are awesome when you elevate your hands off the floor cause you can get an amazing stretch and ROM. They are a little tricky to load though. I bought the Kensui weight vest and it's much easier now.
Other than that, dips are good, most chest machines I imagine are good (idk cause I homegym)

How much weight for the pushups? I've been putting two gallons of water in a backpack. That's like, less than 20 lbs but it feels great.

Depends on how strong you are. I got up to +45lbs for 4 sets of 8-12 when I was pushing them most, but it gets tricky to add that much weight, even with the vest, so I usually just find ways to make the pushups harder with rings/incline/etc

Me.

I only do Smith bench occasionally, and it's always either 30 or 45 degree incline.
I replaced it with DB Press, Machine Press, still always do Pec Deck Fly. Occasionally I'll do Dips.

Honestly if you want to bench, go for it. I just personally do not like the lift. So many gay little mechanics like the arch, the leg drive, etc. involved with it that makes it incredibly annoying. I just want to stimulate my chest, and alternatives do just fine.

What's your problem? Shoulder pain? Just arch a little, retard. You're allowed to do that.

Ive been doing 10 sets of 12 pushups with the 2 gallons on my back. I've definitely seen some results in my titties as a lanklet. I guess I gotta start adding some resistance bands to the 2 gallons. Hashtag homebound tittybuilders

Two gallons of water is about 16lbs
If you can get cheapo concrete weights and a decently sturdy backpack, and something to put your hands on, even a stack of books, you could keep making progress and develop a decent pair of pecs that way anon

I replaced it with incline bb press. Mostly because there's only 4 flat benches at my gym and they're constantly occupied yet nobody does incline.

Do you queers not have a partner? At least on chest/benchpress day?
I do these things and have my P put a plate on my back and hold it so it wont slide off. She also helps me on bench but we have safety bars too 'cause she cant handle the weight Im doing very well.
Anyway...

Yeah I had a small pec tear a little while ago and now I've given it up. There's an incline press thats plate loaded I like at the gym. Occasionally flys and dips. Chest looks better than it did when I just benched

Yes machines are were its at for sure. Or a partner so you can go to failure on the benchpress. I just got a pulley tower so I will start to utilize that.

Safety bars work. Retracting shoulders and arching back a little raise your chest, set bars just below that and if you flatten out the bar isn't on you.

Bros I’m hardstuck on 2pl8 bench for 3 reps and it’s been 5 months and I can’t break through. Wtf should I do? I bench x3 per week already

Fuck are you yapping on about? I train in my home gym alone so I have to find a way to load pushups by myself when I do them. I do bench press btw, and I use safety spotters.
