Redpill me on run clubs
What are they like? Are they a good place to socialize? Will the /fit/ physique help pick up some qts?

You've made this spam thread more than a few times

Idk, I have severe social anxiety so my brain researches like crazy about this because it needs assurance about what run clubs are like. It's almost like OCD, sry about the spam, I just need more answers before I can try one.

To be honest I was also thinking about the same especially since one has formed in my town. I prefer doing sports alone because I just like to be alone plus I don't want to deal with the mental gymnastics of being worse or better than others. So I don't see the appeal of them and I wonder what others get out of it.

I want to try it because I have no friends and never had a girlfriend. I have absolutely no social life and because I enjoy running and gym, a run club seems like a good fit for me.

I guess that sounds like a good plan. If you don't like it you can always just stop going. Good luck, anon!
But aside from that any kind of group training could be a good place to socialize. Yoga class, bouldering, boxing gym etc.

I want to try yoga too but I don't think it's good for socializing. It's basically you the only guy and 20 women.

I'm in a similar boat as you, anon. I'm training for a Half Marathon and decided that instead of always doing it alone it might be fun to try out the Running Clubs, maybe even pick up a gf in the process. I saw them running across the gym a few times and people there seem to yap nonstop, so it must be more of a casual event. They do have lots of girls there, that's for sure.
If you want to combine gains + presence of girls, I was surprised that Capoeira classes had like 50/50 male/female participants (although Capoeira is of course not even close to Boxing/JiuJitsu in terms of effectiveness, it's a crazy intense cardio workout anyway. Also improves your flexibility. Another alternative is dancing (something active like hiphop)).
Let's try it out over the next few weeks and create a new thread and share the experience.

I had the same experience, lol. Yoga and stuff like Barre.

Just appear there without joining them doing your own thing and research them. If you get positive vibes join them

You will never pick up any qts if you have to research everything 1000x times instead of just trying shit out and live your life more carefree

Not that easy. I have been a NEET for 6 years living in isolation. Even just looking at people is hard for me, my social skills are basically non-existent.
Ironic because you can only improve by being social but being social requires skill. I am trapped.

Depends a lot on where you are. I joined running club at college and it was a great experience since everyone liked running but weren't serious about it and we socialized outside of the club a lot. Outside of college, if you live in a downtown area there should be a few options that include a range of ages. Currently, I live in a suburban area, we have a run club near me but it only meets early in the morning and from what I can tell is entirely middle age people so even though I'm in my early 30s at this point, I still don't really want to hang with a bunch of 50 year olds.

In general though running clubs are quite inclusive. People tend to be nice to prospective runners. Look up clubs near you, find out where they meet, and go down there. You don't have to sign up first. Just go there, ask if this is run club and let them talk about the club for a second.
>but I'm too socially anxious to do that
Then you're fucked. You either do it or what's the point of even asking this question?
