Hello /fit/ I come to you in dire need. I recently just got into lifting and I'm wondering, how do I do deadlifts properly without destroying my spine?

Always remember it is mainly glute and hamstring targeting exercise and the rest are just auxiliary. If you are lifting it mainly with your lower back for whatever reason you are risking injury. Spread your legs at least your shoulder width apart and lift it with your ass and legs.

If you're that worried start off with good mornings or weighted hyper extensions.
