It took me 15 years to realize u dont have to squat up-right

I hurt my lower back so many times trying to force myself to keep an up-right back position

now that I let my back lean over, my glutes and hamstrings take over the squat, and my back pain completely disappeared

I've replaced it with ass to grass incline leg press and glute presses. No more back or balance issues.

yep I remember being in high school and I could powerclean like the strongest in my grade but my squat was less than some skelly modes. And nobody ever corrected my form or whatever I just believed I couldn't squat because of hip mobility or something.

I used to do high bar but I fucked up my knee (meniscus and ACL) in a car accident so I switched to low bar and my squat went up like 50 pounds even post injury

i remember paying like $300 for these 10 years ago and they didnt even help my squat, all they did was give me knee pain

barefoot squats are so much better

It only took me like 4 years to figure that out but it’s such a difference. I feel like I’m actually hitting my butt and legs now instead of just fucking up my back.

For that is impossible for everyone from short to tall people, you must be clearly lifting over your capacity with imperfect motion, like your face tilted down to the bottom not front to upright. Abandon your ego, drop the weight and make it perfect then go higher reps.

i lift the same weight barefoot as i do with squat shoes

the only difference being im pain free barefoot squatting, where as the squat shoes give me knee pain when i squat with them

If you have long femurs you can't get parallel without raised heels. Makes the lower leg virtually longer.

It's geometry and balance. Squat dwarves have no idea because it's the most natural thing in the world. Long torso short femur means you can stay upright. Short torso long femur, you have to bend all the way forward to balance the weight, and if you don't have raised heels you might fall backwards trying to get parallel.
