How much protein do we need a day?
One gram per pound of body weight? Two?
Im looking at my Chonbani protein yogurt label. It has 20 grams of protein and says 40% of daily value, so its saying 50 grams is 100% daily value if my calculations are correct (they are).
I weigh 203 lbs. Im WAY off right?
Whats the number!?

Barely. I have a pound of lean turkey defrosting in the fridge which will give me about 90-100 grams of protein later. I need to eat like 220 so I ate a 50 gram protein shake and some boiled eggs. Harsh to fit all of this into a 1000 calorie cut. Very little wiggle room.

Sorry I mean that I have a 1000 calorie deficit. Im eating 2000 per day with a tdee of around 3000

You will lose a significant amount of lean mass with that extreme deficit and craving will backfire, you'd better halve it. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Ive been doing this for a couple months and havent had too many issues with it. The only reason I gained weight was due to an alcohol problem. I stopped drinking and stopped gaining weight but wasnt losing it as quickly as I used to when I would historically stop drinking. I have significant muscle mass and lift and do cardio almost every day. I dont really get cravings so much as just general hunger which I am able to fight off by drinking sparkling water. If it gets severe I can take it easier but right now im feeling good and dropping 2lbs a week like clockwork.

No but somehow my lifts are still going up. Maybe i've still got a reserve on days i do eat enough protein the day prior to when i don't.
