Sets x Reps x Weight. It's called volume because it has 3 dimensions.

Is there a fourth dimension?

Volume feels the best for legs and back. Maybe its just because I've had so many shoulder injuries from high school and college sports, but volume feels so bad for stuff like chest press or overhead shoulder press

Ah yes, a statement without qualifications, utterly meaningless slop to make people feel like they are doing something by playing hopscotch on the machines and cables for 2 hours. 4-6 all out hard sets per week per muscle group will give you 90 percent of the gains you'd get on a higher volume program. Funny thing is high volume is usually worse because people sacrifice intensity just to do more volume lelz

It's almost like modified bro splits work the best where you do a major compound exercise followed up with 1 to 2 deep stretch exercises. Like doing 5 sets of squats with 1-2 sets of leg curls and extensions.
