I am 5'10, weigh 125 pounds, have no muscle and I know absolutely nothing about fitness or dieting beyond "You need to eat a certain amount of calories and protein alongside working out to make any gains at all". I am also a massive poorfag, with very little money left over every month for food in a pretty expensive area.

What are some good foods I can use to get to a more average/healthy muscle mass and weight? How do I learn the basics of not becoming a twig?

Rice and beans.
Eggs
Milk
Eat /drink these
Get a scale in grams, weigh your ingredients make sure you meet your macros.
It's 1g/kg lean, you need 125g of protein per day+ exercise to gain muscle

Bone-In Chicken Thighs (Cheap).
Beans (Cheap)
White Rice (Cheap)
Bulk Ground Beef (Somewhat Cheap)
Bulk Protein Powder (Somewhat Cheap)
Vegetables (Somewhat Cheap)

Get all this shit at Costco and freeze what you wont use in a week. Splurge on meats that are still <10$ a pound so you dont lose your sanity. Supplement protein requirements with powder if you struggle to down ~125g protein from meat. Meal prep for 3-4 days at a time and count your calories/measure your portions. Add flavor to your food with spices/sauces. Eat at a sustainable calorie surplus and lift weights at least 3x a week.

There's literally no excuse. If you can't do this you're retarded and gay.

buy chickens whole (and have the butcher butcher it for you if you're short on time), it's like 1/10th the price
eggs, skyr, rice, beans, milk, protein powder (aim for <20€ per kg)
