That's not surprising. You have to consider the world population of

>women
>children
>elderly
>disabled
>starving niggers in Africa
>scrawny indians and chinks which make up a high portion of the world
>most asian cultures don't value lifting
>the remaining amount of men who simply don't lift at all or gave up

After all is said and done, the able bodied male adult (but not too old) lifting portion of the world is probably very tiny. Then scrawny manlets in the lifting adult pool lower it even more.

lol i used to do gymnastics in high school. i could easily do 50 push ups per set for multiple sets, 30-40 body weight dips etc etc. i was a very lean athletic guy 6ft ~165lbs. i took me a full year of strict dedication to bench two plates for 1 rep. that alone can tell you that most things you read here are absolute nonsense by fat boomers/millenials larping as bodybuilders that have zero sense of athleticism.

This shit is probably true.
I see a lot of zoomers that look built as fuark, but none of them bench and instead do cables and machines. Even on machines they do like 2-2 1/2 plates on each side which when I tried was super easy, not even worth doing.
BIg part of benching is techinque and just being used to the movement.

I personally got to 225lbs x3 in my first 3 months of lifting @6ft2 195-198lbs, don't know exactly when I hit 225 and my 1rm.
Now a year and some months later I'm doing 150kg (330lbs) as my last tested 1rm. @210lbs. Train with 115kg (253lbs) 8x3.

My routine was with really heavy emphasis on pressing, I was obsessed with getting the number up to 3pl8.

225 takes years to get to and the vast majority of the population doesn't stay in the gym for multiple years. If even 1% of your city were regular gym-goers, your gym would be fucking PACKED. There would have to be a gym on every corner to accommodate that many people. Truth is, a very small percentage of the population cares about being muscular, very few bother to go to the gym at any point in their life and an even tinier percentage actually stick to it long term. Even those that do, you don't see them lifting over 225 in the gym. Pay attention when you're at the gym, it's only the roiders and other no-lifes who've worked on bench press that much to be able to do it. And it doesn't mean shit, very few pro fighters can bench 225. It doesn't help much with functional strength.

I've been going to my commercial gym for 3 years now and only seen 1 dude benching 3pl8 for 1 rep (the guy had atleast 10yrs lifting Xp and was on TRT allegedly at 40yo).
Only seen 1 guy that was like 6ft and clearly atleast 200lbs reppin 2pl8 for 5-6, seen one dude that was in his 40s who claimed natty doing 2pl8 for 1 so ye that number seems right.
I'm 140lbs and my 1rm is 190lbs but I've never really focused on bench only or doing a strength focused program while bulking hard, just got into 1 a few weeks ago and I'm seeing progress, probably gonna slow bulk to 150 and see if I can get a 1rm 2pl8 by the end of year.

My bench was really bad in my early lifting "career". I think I had a 172lbs max bench at 160-165lbs bw @6'0 long arms). Eventually, I decided I wanted to finally get that 2pl8 bench, so I followed simple LP programs with only 1 accessory for each big lift while being on a bulk. I got my bench up to 190lbs on GSLP variants. Then I did Smolov Jr for bench and added another 10 lbs in 3 weeks. Little bit of a break, deload, and then GSLP again, and I finally reached 225. To be honest, doing very little other stuff that could have interfered with bench was really the main thing. I don't remember how many weeks it took me but it was very fast considering I was basically hard stuck at baby weight before.

People and especially gymrats have no idea how incredibly weak the average Joe is.
Most people never go to the gym, nor do they do anything physical and if they do, they somehow are still weak, likely due to shit diets.
Even the absolute majority of the ones who go to the gym, are weak as hell and will never reach two plates.

My gym is mostly East Indians and they’re all incredibly weak and aimless. Just today I watched a fat one wearing a tank top walk into the gym. check himself out in the mirror, flex, and all before he even did an exercise. Then he immediately jumped into the seated chest press machine, no warm up, and alternated with 95lb barbell squats, effectively taking up 2 pieces of equipment and giving the girl squatting beside him the ick. I saw he kept looking at her and she stopped doing her sets and went to do the leg press. How is this relevant to the OP? It’s not. I’m just sharing a story about Indian fatigue at my gym. Yesterday there was a skinny one doing bench press with 135lbs, he did 1 rep with full rom and 2 quarter reps and then racked it, this was followed up by flexing in the mirror.
>hurrdurr ur not working out ur just judging other people at the gym!!
It’s called me resting between my working sets and doing a subtle glance around the gym to check out my surroundings you dumb faggot. It’s high IQ to observe your surroundings and know whats happening around you. So don’t even start with that shit. There was another fat weak Indian the other day with a turban who kept trying to have a staring contest with me but I was unphased by such juvenile behaviour. When he saw me load up 315lbs for working sets on squats I could sense the seethe coming from him. Didn’t even have to look at him to feel it. I could see him looking at me from behind in the mirror. I love mogging the fuck out of the weak jeets at my gym. They all think they’re tough until it’s time to actually lift some weights and then they all exposed themselves as weak little bitches. I’m sick of the B.O they bring, they don’t shower or use deodorant. I’m sick of their egos, the way they stare at you, passing their insecure energy in your direction. But I love mogging them. Boy do I love mogging them

I started lifting at the Y at 13. At 14 I unlocked school weight room 4 days a week. When I came back from summer freshman year I could bench 2 plates. At 31 I injured my shoulder and took 6 months off, I just came back still with a fucked shoulder and can still bench 2 plates.

If you're a man and you've worked out for more than a year and can't bench 2 plates, I recommend finding a new hobby perhaps one that women do.

My gym is non-roider and I see a few guys benching over 100kg but they're usually short. It really is a lot to bench for most semi-regular gym-goers, and social media fucks with everyone's perceptions

200lbs lean is only naturally achievable for some guys who are 6'2+
FFMIs over 22 are rare naturally in reality.

Not for nothing, younger and younger kids are on roids. I could guarantee you the gym i helped build 60% or more of the males who go are on roids when they first step inside. The manager tries to get them off it, bless his autistic heart, but who knows how many actually do anything.

Fuck yeah bruh. That's what I was pushing before the accident. Been back 3 weeks and know I should slow down but already back to 255 for a set of ten. I'll see you back at Super Saiyan 3 real soon.

It's all mental gymnastics
>my 120kg bench is impressive because I'm strong
>your 115kg bench is shit because you're weak, even though it's stronger than most people
>your 130kg bench is impressive, and it means you're stronger than me, but that means I'm shit and weak compared to you, so you must be on roids
So they can't brag about their achievements because there's someone better than them out there, so all they can do is put someone down who's not as good as them. It's very feminine behaviour
