China is a leader in steel/any metal production. They have the technoly that the west doesn't have. And it's not a recycled metal, but from the ore. All the proportion of different metals are exactly as they should be. They also have a very cheap energy.
So yea, it's absolutely normal that the equipment consisting of metal of 99% is cheaper and of a better quality if you order it frok china.

Sadly they lack quality control. Whenever I order a chair, table or something else that requires assembly and it's made in China at least one of the screws is mis sized and doesn't go in.

There are really legit, high quality companies. But at the same time their laws make it really easy to rugpull your customers, so for every legit company you have a dozen that are borderline with how subpar their products are, and another dozen that are straight up scams that don't actually intend to deliver a product at all

We all know about the inflation gym equipment got during the COVID. We also know it was a lie because the supply chain only got affected for a week or so during that period of time. So everything went up and there wasn't a single cause well excused behind it.

Then my friend tell me to try website from china. The price is so cheap I think it must be a scam, but I try anyway. When it arrive, the quality is shock me. The metal is very strong, very pure, no any bubble or weak point. Is exactly like you say, the proportion is perfect.

I think is because in USA the energy company is too greedy, and all metal is recycle too many time, become weak. China has many new technology and the energy is not so expensive so they can make it better from the start. Everyone should buy from china, is not even a question. Very good product for our country.

At the moment the best steel in the world is the one from northern Sweden/Norway. They also have dirt cheap energy but I'm not sure it's very competitive in terms of price with the Chinese. Chinese's steel quality is very inconsistent and heavily depends on the manufacturer. You can be royally fucked over if you choose a bad manufacturer.

In my job I see many parts. American parts, Mexican parts, Chinese parts. The Chinese one is always more consistent. Maybe you never actually buy a quality product from China, you just believe what TV say. Their worker have very strong discipline, they dont complain all day and make good product. Is about work ethic, not politics. My uncle is welder, he say same thing.

You can believe me or not, I don't care. My car is running good with the part, that is all the proof I need.

This is very old information you have. Maybe 20 years ago Swedish steel was good, but now is obsolete. They are not so innovative, they use very old machine and method.

Today, China is the leader. They are not using old methods. They use newest technology, full robot production lines and AI computer to control the exact mixture. This is why the quality is perfect every time, no inconsistency. Is not about the manufacturer, all big factories in China have this modern system. Is standard.

You talk about Sweden cheap energy, but what is the use when they are so inefficient? They spend all the money on social security and sick leave for people who don't want to work, and supporting too many immigrants. They have no money left for innovation. Their production is very small, only for small projects. For a big construction or manufacturing, you need thousands of tons. Sweden cannot do this. China can deliver huge quantity with fast logistics, on time, with perfect quality and lower price. There is no competition.

I worked a job where a client put in a bunch of stone pathways in front of and around his house and he sourced the stone from China. He was told it was volcanic rock that would last for decades.
Turns out it was sandstone and it started chipping within months of him putting it all in the ground. The company had dyed the outside to look like a different stone. By that time, electric and plumbing had been put in around the stone so there was no moving anything unless he wanted to re-do the entire stonework and plumbing/electic/whatever else.
And when he tried to get his money back, he was told that the company had gone under and was no longer operating.

Sticking to Aliexpress/websites with large international clientele is your best bet if you want to buy direct from producer, though your savings aren't going to be as ridiculous. Probably 60-80% of retail, and up to 90% for select bits. Be careful with shipping and tax though, if you're retarded you could end up paying the same or more, though if you've properly checked your deals, you'd still be paying less than retail by a significant margin.

I see on news that workplace accident in China is now lower than in Western Europe. They have this progress because they invest in future, not waste all money on social programs and wars.

In America, you still have people doing dangerous job by hand! Very backwards. China factory is fully automatic. No people get hurt. The quality is controlled by computer, so is perfect.

Your story is just one bad customer experience, probably not even from China. But I can tell you ten story about American steel that break and cause big problem. China is number one for real, not a joke.

you typically get little / no Quality Control and there are very big variation in Quality in general
it's not like you can't get high quality stuff from China, just harder to find
plus always more risk, less / no warranty and outside your jurisdiction

my equipment is mostly made in Germany with long warranties and a high level of quality control like xray inspected welds etc.
i didn't want to gamble on quality and safety so I paid the higher price
