Give it to me straight. It's impossible to find impartial information about nicotine and what it actually does to your body, good or bad. Can it increase your testerone? Can it sharpen your cognitive abilities? Can it deepen your voice and make you more masculine-gigachad coded? Or is that all nonsense and in reality you'll just get cancer...

Nicotine is an aromatase inhibitor and it definitely has a cognitive boosting effect. That being said it's also a vasoconstrictor (affects erection quality among other things) and smoking it will literally kill you. Furthermore, it's a bitch to quit because your body gets used to the dopamine and you will suffer through a season of brain fog and anhedonia.
I loved smoking but personally I wouldn't pick up the habit again despite the benefits.

Nicotine by itself is, relatively, not that bad. It has some short-term benefits and some long-term drawbacks. Kind of a wash really.
The delivery system is what fucks you. Smoking it is very bad. Vaping is less bad (we think) but more gay. Dipping is pretty bad too. Not enough info on the newer nicotine pouches, but generally should be less bad. Shit like patches and gum are ok.
>tl;dr nicotine is not going to give you turbo cancer. How you get it into your body may give you turbo cancer, or not.

It is stated almost everywhere as the new drug of the zoom zooms. A throwback to the age of chewing tobacco.

This also it’s expensive now and makes you smell and your teeth yellow and while it attracts slutty smoker chicks and those with daddy issues it also turns off an equal amount of women

Boosts tests, boosts IQ, helps you relax but also stimulates you. Cigarettes are shit tier, cigars and pipes are much higher quality tobacco (and not inhaling the smoke into your lungs is obviously much healthier), and they're not (imo) particularly addictive. Also there are all the pouches and patches and gums and chew and dip and snuff and all sorts of other crap. Tobacco is based, tobacco is humanities friend. Aside from smoking cigarettes, the usage of nicotine has no major downsides beyond those of caffeine. Sure excessive dipping or other methods of using it may cause cancer, but so does grilled/charred/smoked food, overly hot food, how water, sunlight, etc. Just be reasonable and enjoy in moderation.

If you rely on google or search engines consumed by SEO algorithmic content then yeah it's impartial, good old AI says it gives a small spike of testosterone when taking it but probably will knock it down a bit long term

I have spent years smoking, vaping and using nicotine pouches (combined)
From experience I am better off when I am clean from nicotine; more energy, less moody, more positive, stronger, better cardio, better erections
nicotine is a vice, it goes with you everywhere, you always crave it, you need to break free, it's not good, obviously
I started smoking because mainstream media said it's bad for you, I am a contrarian by nature, but I admit it is a bad thing
benefits are: socializing with other smokers but usually they are lame people anyway, and some added focus to concentrate on a task you would otherwise be bored of

Idk why everyone focuses on test when discussing nicotine. The test increase is tiny and completely insignificant regarding performance. What is significant is the vasoconstriction, which will 100% make you worse at athletics

Smoked about 3 cigarettes in my life but have been using nicotine gum for approx 3 years. 8mg a day. Haven’t noticed any negatives yet. Sleep is great, dose is steady and still has a decent effect, i’ve completely stopped drinking alcohol and drink less coffee now too. Overall a big net positive for me but also interested in long term impacts.

It's not good on your body. Big tobackshots would be all over it to try to get you to smoke.
There's only one supposed benefit and that's either slowing down or pushing back hyperfrontality for some reason related to the dopamine system.
It sharpens cognitive abilities in the same way coffee does, but your body goes back to baseline pretty much immediately.
There's, surprisingly, one family in Italy with specific genes that null the drawbacks of smoking, so if we get their genes in a CRISPR it'd probably explode into a hot fad.

Anyways. All that aside, it fucks your cardio, so it wouldn't be /fit/ anyways. If you want to look cool, just get fake cigars or cigarettes.

If you're at the point where you're considering taking up smoking because you think it might give you an imperceptible testosterone boost (unproven broscience btw), just take steroids. The negative side effects are probably just as bad but at least you will actually have more testosterone.

Nicotine gives you cancer and kills you, however tobacco activates your social behaviour and tobacco and smoking in general was a social drug that led to group behaviour and conversations with strangers, smoking de-tensifies altercations too, so it is clerly forbidden in the hellscape we are heading to.

Inconclusive studies

Yes

No, wtf

No
What gives nicotine all its reputation is smoking, where you're inhaling burning fumes with 9000000 substances that do god-knows-what, disregard 99% of online bullshitting about nicotine
Nicotine is simply a stimulant and somewhat of a nootropic, it will up your cortisol and your energy levels and get you to an alert state (consequently also increasing dopamine levels, like other stims)
As a non-smoker I've used nicotine patches in multiple occasions, it kinda feels like an in between of caffeine and yohimbine HCl. No addiction as well, that gets you addicted is combining it with the other million substances plus the delivery method (smoking) and the habit of doing it.

not a nicotinecel but it actually is a vasodilator in the muscle. all stimulants caustefight or flight reflex and thus vasodilate muscle while vasoconstrict skin, internal organ, brain, etc blood flow. caffeine does this as well. if nicotine is bad for exercise performance its because it lasts for 10 minutes and causes vertigo and nausea. also stimulants arent that special for weight lifting, since you need to be able to take pauses between sets instead of just hammering until youre sweating blood

All of it is true. No effect without side effects.

Therefore, you should smoke only a little, maybe 3-4 cigarettes on most days, to avoid the worst side effects and still get some sweet gains.

That's why smoking kills rosacea. No joke, look it up.
Many people who stop smoking get rosacea because they had the genetics for it but smoking kept it from breaking out.

Depends how much you use. My cardio levels get *better* when I start smoking relative to when I use snus/nicotine pouches. When your baseline nicotine consumption is high, like it really can only be with vaping/pouches, your resting HR increases because of constant administration. I'm 55 RHR off nicotine but 70-90 when I use pouches. I get physically sick if I start smoking 3+ cigarettes a day but I can easily consume nicotine worth of 3 packs of cigarettes a day if I start with pouches. Anecdotally I don't find it affecting strength training performance that much, but the baseline high HR limits a lot of cardio because your baseline is almost 50% of max HR when a lot of programs suggest max 60% while exercising.
