>be me pretty fit
>do jump rope and running often for cardio
>lift 4 days a week
>also train on rowing machine
>been doing this for close to 5 years
>have a good fiseek
>join a crossfit class after moving to a new city
>first time there, looking to work out maybe make some new friends maybe get laid etc
>injure my ankle and left shoulder on first day
>never go back

Many such cases. Their exercises are retarded, incredibly unsafe and force your body to exert itself in the most stupid ways under literally no supervision, direction or training

Because it's beneficial for this particular sport. People with different body types get filtered out early on.
The same applies to pretty much all physical sports, there's a certain physique with certain proportions that's essentially hyperoptimised for a certain sport.

When CrossFit went mainstream there were tons of stories of people getting rhabdo after overworking.

I do crossfit (crucify me, it's effective) and 90% of the women in there who make a commitment to come regularly are very attractive. Never noticed a "crossfit body" phenomenon.
Maybe it's more common at a competitive level? Female bodybuilders who compete are often built like a fridge as well. It's not exclusive to crossfit
