It’s what

Lipo also depends on how fat you are—I’d suggest cutting as much as possible before you go because it makes things very easy for the surgeon. If you’re very overweight, you’ll have excess skin that needs removal, too.

This is where you have to be selective about your surgeon. FWIW, I went to Caridi in Austin, TX and he did an awesome job: left looks absolutely perfect, right was a little swollen for a bit but now looks good, probably a function of the natural uneven positioning (most people have this and don’t realize it). Basically the best rubric to judge the surgery on is if you no longer think about gyno after the recovery period—it’s so freeing, I don’t think about it at all.

Most reputable surgeons will be able to refer you to nursing services who will pick you up, stay with you, and tend to your wound site, etc. I had someone with me but still hired one of these services because I had no idea what the post-op care needs would be and wanted backup in case there were complications—they sent a cool guy who hung out with us in the hotel room and helped with everything until I was certain we could handle things on our own.
