What's so special about muscle failure?

it maximizes hypertrophy because it causes your body to go
>OH SHI-
and adapt because it thinks you just escaped a lion.

Failure allows you to reach mechanical tension with high motor unit recruitment, which drives hypertrophy through myofibrillar protein synthesis pathways.

His point is not that you should always train to failure, it’s that you should know what true failure actually looks like so that you don’t trick yourself into ending your sets at what you think is 2 RIR when it’s actually like 6.

there is nothing special about it, all it does is maximum damage to your muscles, thats it, that is why you get gains, you fuck up your muscles and then they repair and get bigger, no other magic behind it

I don’t remember, it could’ve been one of the Solomon Nelson vids or some random podcast. I listened to a bunch of stuff a while ago in the background while working, he mentions videogames every now and then but the only one I ever noticed he mentioned by name was one of the Arkham games and he said he beat it 6 times or something lol.

Need a velocity tracker to use RIR and RPE so you have some sort of objective feedback mechanism. Most people are just winging it and want nothing objective about their training. Need to measure and track results.

Question for low volume niggas:

How many exercises do you typically do in a session and how many either overlap or work the same muscle group repeatedly?
Anonymous No.76543297
>>76542136
i know an ifbb mp pro whose youtube preaches low vol workout during off season, and when i work out with him, he does insane amount of warm ups and feeler sets til he reaches his top set (to go to 4 plates, he goes from 1,then 2, then so on). that being said, he only did 5 exercises for his chest and we ended in about 70min with 2 sets per exercise excluding some stretch and some foam rolling time. as for overlapping, it's bound to happen whether you do traditional splits or PPL.
