>Calisthenics is fire for strenght!
it is indeed, and it's free and I'm not bound to some gym closing randomly or having to drive to it, there's literally no reason why there shouldn't be pull-up bars at every corner in a town
>will enjoy some drifting event tomorrow.
sounds based

How does the gains compare to regular weightlifting?
>do you live in japan (judging by the moonrunes) or you are on a trip?
I've been here for 10 years now.
>is nippon just like in my heckin animes?
It depends, if you come here for travel and aim for the famous spots, it will be magical ofc. But most of Japan is not that amazing if you compare it to Tokyo.
It's got a lot of nature, landscapes and temples if you enjoy them.

>How does the gains compare to regular weightlifting?
anon generally speaking you can apply the same weight-lifting training principles especially since you can add actual weights to basic calisthenics compounds like pull-ups and dips, you can get huge with them alone (see streetlifting competitions)
you will definitely lack in some areas, especially legs, since you can't isolate and progressively overload there but generally calisthenics promotes a leaner body if you want to do the sick tricks on the bars like muscle-ups and front-levers and it will definitely be more than enough in terms of looks and toned body at least in anything that goes above the waist for most people that want to get into fitness, as well as longevity
besides everyone has the maximum amount of natural muscle growth and noob gains will happens regardless if you use small weights or your own bodyweight
both have their pros and cons, both can be used in tandem or separately, matter of preference and opportunities and lifestyle

did you move due to your job or just said fuck it and moved there and figured out the rest?

I moved here to know the country a bit. I was supposed to stay for a few years and go back but somehow stayed longer.
>how did you go about learning the language?
Pretty easy, there's a lot of free content online. But I also went to a language school and you eventually learn if if you use it regularly.
>how is the crime/immigration? do you personally find it a problem? do locals mess with foreigners? do you you think you integrated well? what about famliy?
There are crimes here, especially theft, but I personally never had a problem in those years.
The japanese society will never accept me as one of them, but the more japanese you speak, the easier it gets for you. I have some family members living here as well, but I'm free to travel on holidays.

any tips?
I consume a lot of japanese content, don't want to rely on someone's else fanfic that are the translations/localizations
the most frequent resources I stumbled upon were
https://learnjapanese.moe/guide/
https://djtguide.neocities.org/
what can you say about them, if you are familiar with them?
>But I also went to a language school and you eventually learn if if you use it regularly
do they offer free lessons as well? I heard becoming an english teacher was kinda popular for foreigners there
any funny quirks of japanese culture you can tell about that you had to deal with?
>but I personally never had a problem in those years.
cool, good to know
>The japanese society will never accept me as one of them
I figured that yeah, would you say it's a generational thing as in old people are just like that and young people actually have no issues with it (aka there's a disconnect between them) or it's just like this regardless of age and generation?
Do they express disdain somehow? Do you have japanese friends? Did you ever meet like open hostility and racism, regardless of context (like a drunk dude wanted to start shit unprompted)? What do you think is the cause of this, assuming you are polite and respect rules, is it some complex of some sort?

I'm very straightforward when it comes to learning language, I just read stuff and try to speak it. In fact, speaking is key
I knew a pretty good site, but it was saved on my old phone that's probably destroyed by now.
Honestly, if you just wanna travel once, google translate has become pretty accurate at translating it from english to japanese, at least.
>do they offer free lessons as well? I heard becoming an english teacher was kinda popular for foreigners there

I went to both free and paid ones. Uh, it depends on the teacher, but they try to make the classes fun, bot some are more serious. They usually speak a bit of english, but more advanced classes are in japanese only.

The older generation is still somewhat racist, but it depends of the person. The new generations are more open-minded from what I've experienced.
I don't know how to explain it but you can feel it when someone treats you differently because you're a foreigner. But at least on the surface it's towards a positive meaning.
I've got a few japanese friends, but most are foreigners.
Open racism is actually rare here.

McDouble with 2 patties no salt, 1 cheese, mustard, no ketchup, extra onion, 2 pickles.

McChicken with spicy chicken, extra lettuce, add-on tomato, mayo.

I used to eat 2 of each post workout for like $6. Now the deal is dead and I go to in&out for their triple burger with 3 mustard dipped patties, 1 cheese, extra crispy bun, extra tomato, lettuce, and animal sauce for about the same price. satisfying.
