I do 6.5 plates for working sets so 8 plates isnt impossible. Hope to hit 7 plates soon. There's a varbie at my gym who does 4.5 plates.

Use your calves while lifting. Push through the ball of your foot on squats/leg press. It's more natural and recruits more muscles.

I know this is a girls exercise but I've done it a few times and it feels pretty good and not really fatigueing at all compared to squats and RDL. Plus girls will mire you when you thrust 4pl8+ compared to their weak ass

Tried it for the first time last week and only did 2 plates because I wanted to check if I'd be sore with that. It was very easy but positioning was weird, at the end the only thing bothering me was feeling the bar on my pelvis, kinda like when a DL's bottleneck becomes it pressing down on your finger and it hurts your bone.

Same here, it's probably better with a machine but I have issues with getting the bar in a position where it won't tip one way or the other, stabilizing that, and then the bar digging into my pelvis itself

I do not really believe in the importance of "mind-muscle connection" or feeling the contraction strongly but I tried hip thrusting my squat 1rm for 5 reps and all I got was sore quads
