The most important factor by a huge margin that makes intermittent fasting work is the fact that people who are intermittent fasting are more likely to eat less food overall. If you don’t change the amount of food you are eating, you might as well not be doing it.

Alright, I'll cut the piece of toast out from my breakfast. First thing I can think of to try and eliminate is bread.

That would be a good start. You should replace it with something that's low on carbs like quark or yogurt

What do you eat in a day? It's unlikely cutting out the single piece of toast is going to do much

Yeah no shit. I genuinely have an easier time eating nothing at all than I do eating a balanced diet.

>get intense cravings as any person would, but especially more so a fatty
>binge on delivery fast food
>blame genetics for getting even fatter
Many such cases.

Most people genuinely have no idea
>what their TDEE actually is on average. They always over-estimate it.
>how many calories they're actually eating. They always under-estimate it.
Spend a month weighing, reviewing and calculating everything you eat. It so easy to overconsume calorie dense foods. Even things like mixed nuts.
Having a kitchen scale and weighing exactly what 100g of rice, mince, pasta etc consists of is a real eye opener.
