I used to do olympic lifting and the gym I went to was in the same building as a crossfit gym so occasionally I would go over there to steal dumbbells from them when our gym was really busy
As you can imagine there was quite a bit of crossover (a lot of the people in my gym were ex-crossfitters who got into weightlifting because of crossfit) and they were very in shape people, the people in the crossfit gym were usually pretty fit as well so it must work to some extent
the main downside I could see was from overhearing some of the conversations in the crossfit gym a lot of them seem like faggy redditor "always have to be right" types
example
>girl is trying to squat
>some dude is trying to tell her to keep her toes pointed perfectly forward because of "torque"
>she's obviously ignoring him but he won't go away
>he continues to tell her about "torque" in futility as she squats
pretty funny
the people in my gym were always nice though dont have anything bad to say about them
