Lifting heavy weights destroys heart valves. When you lift heavy weights the blood pressure is so high that if you do it often your valves will stretch and deform. Plus to gain muscles you have to eat a lot which makes you become old faster.
Always remember the golden rule: "Anything more than a fast walk is detrimental to your health".
Now you can unleash gymcel rage against this truth.

Exercise is stressful, yes
Would you rather be a soulless corpse that doesn't move or would you rather enjoy your life

>Heavy leg press + Valsalva produced intra-arterial pressures of 480/350 mmHg in trained men.
that's a seconds-long doubling of the sustained high BP that you can see in aerobics, but it's only a doubling, and valves are tough.
I'd be more interested in this if you focused on it instead of diverting to food.

this is true. powershitters who don't have a good cardio base, which is 99% of them, do permanent damage to themselves and should be made fun of.

lmao, do you guys even do cardio? Did you guys also know cardio increases your heart size? It helps with pumping more blood at a less frequent pumping rate

You know what, breathing is technically killing you. Maybe you should stop breathing.

I do a 10x10 routine with one compound exercise per session. Along with strength, my cardio conditioning has absolutely shot through the roof.

10x10 Bulgarian split squats are incredible. I was hiking with some friends in a trail I’ve hiked a million times last week and the pace at which I was able to maintain throughout the entirety of the hike was unreal.

No I’m not. Conditioning is conditioning, and I wasn’t even winded while hiking at a fast pace when everybody else was out of breath and panting.

Do you think that cardio and lifting weights are mutually exclusive things?

Who is going to run out of steam first. The dyel with great cardio but has difficulty split squatting 135lbs for even 3RM or the guy that doesn't train cardio but can do 185lbs split squats for 10x10? Whose going to have a better time at the mile? The dyel who runs all the time or the guy who just lift weights?

cardio grows your heart in a circular pattern so the chambers actually hold more fluid. roids grows the chamber walls directly so there's less space with a stronger contraction

>3 minutes is elite
>2:45 is “be a pro”
By whose fucking standards? I’m 31, never ran track, and don’t prioritize running. I ran a 2:50 this summer without training for a 800 at all. I was a pretty good athlete but nothing special. 2:45 isn’t that hard if you try.

Its part of a wider assessment to work out your strengths and weaknesses. Full thing is:
>broad jumps (height in inches + 24)
>pull ups (20)
>bench press (bw ×20)
>trap bar dl (2.5x bw x5)
>plank (3 mins)
>farmers walk (250ft carrying bw)
>800m run (2m45s)
Anonymous No.76585128
>>76584248
All together that’s pretty interesting to think about. Good benchmarks that’s way too. I feel like the broad jump is pretty easy though.

Not that anyone cares but I can clear all of this no problem except being 5 seconds slow on the 800.

Ok I found the video and started watching. I do think their elite and be a pro standards are good things to strive for and reachable with dedication.

That said this is complete horseshit
>Be a Pro: world class mark reserved for tier 1 professionals performing at the very limits of human capability
I can hit these and I am far, far from world class performance. Another case of SF guys sucking themselves off.

After getting into the weeds of HRV data, I believe this shit.

>Morning
>HRV 200
>train
>HRV 9 and dyspnea hours later
Same goes for metabolizing meals, especially those heavy in protein or fat.
