>When did you realise that CICO is bullshit?
Like everyone else: When I tried it for real with an autism scale and autism calorie charts. Before that, I could lie to myself and say "Well, I am surely making amistake somewhere, oh well, must be me, it's thermodynamics after all" like so many people here do.
Ofc, you may be smarter than me and, long before trying it, wonder how different plants and meats from different soils and cows and climates could have the absolute same caloric value. Or maybe you're good enough at calculating in your head to see at one glance that 100% of the CICO weight loss stories don't add up math wise. Or maybe you are genius level IQ and go by the old and true rule "the government AND the internet says X, so X must be wrong" to avoid the whole thing entirely.
But for me, I never questioned any of that, I just didn't care enough, didn't do any research and just took everything at face value. So I had to make the mistakes myself like the idiot I am.
