Has anyone here successfully managed to lower their resting heart rate?

Pic related, it's my heart at 85 bpm when I tell it to slow down.

yea, there are breathing techniques you can do to trick your brain to calm down. If you do this 5-10 min a day your average heart rate will go down

Blackcurrants are a food that does it. I'm usually in the high 40s when decently well-trained, so I have to be careful not to OD on them, kek.

I lowered mine from 100 to 55. In short I was overweight and had high blood pressure and lived a sedentary lifestyle. I started lifting and doing hard cardio 6 days a week and dropped my heart rate. After about 6 months of this I noticed my heart rate was anywhere from 52bpm to 55bpm on my rest days. My blood pressure is 118/78 which is insane. The only thing that had this impact was doing what I consider to be very vigorous cardio. I get on rhe cardio bike and try to push over 200 watts for 30 minites a day, sometimes I feel good and go for an hour. Its my understanding that this power output is considered advanced for amateur spin class people which I am proud of considering where I started.

>live a relaxed and chill life
>high resting heart rate (unhealthy)
>go balls to the wall with cardio pushing yourself to the limit daily
>low resting heart rate (healthy)
Why is it like this?

Ever heard of cardio?? My heart does 55bpm at 180lbs by the way

Putting your hearth through intense scenarios forces it to adapt and git gudder at pumping. Your heart becomes more efficient, blood vessels get bigger/stronger so you can deliver more oxygen though your body at a faster rate. Then when you rest your cardiovascular system doesn't have to work nearly as hard because it has adapted to much harsher conditions. It's like how you put a strain on your chest when you bench, so your chest grows stronger and adapts so you can move more weight with less effort as time goes on

Hard sprints and high bpm running might put a lot of strain on your heart but i had <60 while smoking drinking and no serious cardio for years. I was also doing a lot of 130-150bpm to rest between but high intensity is the way to go to recover fast.

I lift and walk 10k steps. I used to ride my bike for 20 miles a day I assume I retained a lot of those cardio gains or something.

Honestly surprisingly quickly. Cardio feels like hell at first but you will adapt rapidly, far faster than building strength or anything.

I tried using Nebivolol to manage blood pressure but I found that it was slowing my heart rate down too much and it started freaking me out. I was in the mid 30s. I still plan to use it at low dose as an a performance anxiety remedy when I need to

my story starts similar: I was more than 100lb overweight with blood pressure so high the dentist refused to work on me and a 'resting' HR so high that health watches couldn't even tell when I slept.
I fixed my diet and found some cardio I liked and gradually lost the pounds, was happy to see my HR go lower and lower and into the 50s, and doctors were amazed at how good my blood pressure was.
incredibly, being fat is BAD, and to stop being fat actually directly fixes tons of stuff.

but then my story goes: I got into weird supplements, randomly bought and took stuff after seeing one post or video, which includes a cocktail of 8 different kinds of magnesium with some absorption enhancement.
Then after a month of arc of really shitty sleep and diet, while otherwise feeling completely fine, I noticed that my HR was 47bpm and it finally occurred to me to look up whether was normal or not. "Everything is cancer" websearch says: this is bradycardia, probably heart failure, you're probably going to die.
So I had a very bad time involving a lot more heart supplements that also fucked me up, an ER visit, and a cardiologist who told me to consider throwing my watch away because all I have to do is calm the fuck down. I did not really believe him, but I've gotten the supplement stack down to fresh fruit and natto.

So yeah OP, reducing your HR is easy if you're starting out fat.

My heart rate was 90 resting but then i started spin and it took over to the point I do it 5 times a week as a rule. Now my resting can be as low as 22 but usually 30-40, even had some chest pain once i put down to it being so slow but that's self limiting as the adrenaline rush from it spikes it back up.

I got incredible heart gains from playing thrill of the fight twice a week and walking 10k steps daily in my living room, going around in circles.
My feet hurt walking less than 1000 steps a day and now I can do 20k steps and have to stop myself or I would do it all day long.
RHR is 50bpm and it goes down to 40bpm when sleeping.
And I'm like 27%bf still.

When I was in highschool and running ~12 miles daily I had a resting heart rate of 48 bpm.
