Whatever you engineer/fix/work on, there's someone who sells it or sells the idea of renting it/using it in projects to companies. You can probably pivot if you work hard enough dude. Your knowledge is valuable and will let you talk to purchasing managers/operations directors/whatever role is looking for the thing you engineer way more deeply than most sales people you'll compete with.

If it's actual engineering, certainly. Engineering companies need sales engineers to shill the right products to the right people. They told us in engineering school that a significant amount of us would end up in sales. If you're a software """engineer""" you won't have the same opportunities.

I'm still stuck in a 40h standard contract for now, since I focused on getting raises on reviews so far, but still barely working more than 3h/day despite being one of the highest paid engineers in the ompany. Just stick around in hearing range of the phone for the other 5h while doing whatever I feel like.

Ive been slacking off also but we won't ever get to owning our own firm if we keep this up. We really need to start going above and beyond. It doesnt matrer if our companies give us way too much time to do projects, lets go above and anyone. We got in this field cuz it was fun remember?
