"muscle memory" exists, but it's nothing to do with your actual muscle remembering, and everything to do with mind-muscle connection, experience, and discipline, all of which increase after gymming for a while.

You'll probably recover your gains quicker than you first built them, assuming decent testosterone levels.

maybe it's a mechanism similar to how fat cells don't die even when you lose weight so morbidly obese people tend to gain it all back as soon as they eat crap again. It definitively is much easier for me to resume even months than it was when I started for the very first time.

Hypertrophy on the other hand is merely the growth of the muscle cells one already has. Like your example of fat cells. If one used to work out and generated new muscle (hyperplasty), and if they stop working out, their muscles "atrophy". However, generally, the muscle cells are still there, they've just lost protein, water, and cell membrane. Once you begin training again, it is simple to gain your muscle "mass" back.

Again, it's extremely difficult to generate new muscle cells (hyperplasty) without hormone spikes. But, it's relatively easy (months) to regain muscle mass (hypertrophy), after a hiatus and losing muscle mass (atrophy).

Muscle memory absolutely exists. When you attempt to build muscle, you develop Myosatellite cells. There is no evidence that in the absence of strength training that your body deletes these cells, however extended periods of disuse will make them dormant.

Could look into stem cells, rehab steroids, surgery, cortisol, and whatever else. Or just preferably bulking, high vits/fats/collagen, and rehab work like super light tensing and articulating etc. Like pulling a too heavy db, pushing against a fixed bar to reset tendons, putting more and more weight on it like some weights on a boxing glove.

It's both there's like 2 separate things it could be.
The first is muscles are multinucliated cells. They grow my fusing nuclei of satellite cells into them selves. More nuclei more mitochondria more potential energy output. Even if the muscle loses tissue mass it doesn't lose those nuclei. (unless it's damaged catastrophically).

The second is also a neuron thing dealing with recruitment patterns in practiced movments. To heavily abbreviate this your spine, neurons and brain devise the more effecient muscle fiber recruitment for a given movment so it doesn't waste as much energy. This is also part of why it gets so much harder to gain mass in the intermediate stages.

In terms of the quicker size gaining when i studied it some years ago it has to do with your muscle cels developing more nucleus while they grow for the first time and when you stop and lose size they t keep the nucleus and when you train again hyou gain size quicker cause your muscles already have more nucleus wich is the slower part on the process of gaining muscle size.

I dont know the theory about the strrength part but i havent squated and deadlifted for four year and now that im back at it for like 3 months i will alread try to reset my deadlift pr on my next session and to gain this pr first i worked for 2 years so its much easier once youve done it before too

Life happened. All kinds of bs from health to just rl issues. Went back to the gym in January, reached 3 plates for 6 reps on squats in august, I wonder how long it'll take me to get to like 12 reps. Overall, it's alright, not as impressive as my 5 plates back in the day, but eh, back then I was obsessed with powerlifting and PRs, unironically completed as an amateur. Now I'm just a dude who wants to have some fun in the gym.

Yes. No matter how much time I become a lazy piece of shit, the recovery time is always pretty quick. Takes like 2 weeks to get back into the groove of things, and by about 3 months you've recovered most of your shit.
