Deadlifting is fun and has never once injured me.

Leg Press is a more dangerous lift ffs.

Can someone explain why standard deads give me pain but deficit deads feel great?

Yes, It's either.
#1. You're not bracing correctly.
#2. You fell for the meme that the deadlift is a back exercise and not a leg exercise.

I hate how retards have memed squats and deadlifts into being super dangerous insta spine destroying movements. Everyone thinks their bodies are made of glass now.
>nah bro i dont do deads i dont want to snap my shit up
>what? directly train my lower back? no way bro thats how u snap ur shit
>brace better? nah bro just tighten the belt harder it protects u
>wtf why do i have back pain??? must have been the 1 set of deads i did during the last 6 months and not me neglecting my back by never training it

The vast majority of the population lacks the mobility to do either exercise heavy. It's better to just teach them the hex bar.

I think these movements got a bad rep because for the longest time, they have been associating with powerlifting and thus people do them with strength-based styles, which means low reps and high amounts of weight (for them)

which means many people don't get the required time to properly practice their forms and get it down right using a healthy amount of weight, ego lifting is a big part of it, too

if I was just starting deads, I would do 8-12 reps and do stiff leg deadlift because it necessitates a lower weight than other versions

faggots doing autistic sumo weight belt and weightmaxxing are twats who ruined the deadlift's rep

We have come full circle back to the 90s. No deadlifts because of the lower back. Train a muscle once a week and let it recover because science. Same shit 30 years ago. The only difference is that roids are far more common now so

This is the only correct answer to these threads. You sit in front of your monitor for 8+ hours / day and you barely do any other physical activity outside of gym. No fucking shit you get hurt, your muscles are shortened, your tendons and ligaments are weak.

There is so much truth in this. Its something I forgot because I've been active and training my whole life using different modalities. But Mark Wildman put out a few videos where he talks about the challenges of modern personal training, where people come who are in such desperate states of being untrained or deconditioned, that they need 6-12 months of training before they can even start actually training.

I'd say flat bench press is the most dangerous bc people stupidly go too heavy on it and their shoulders gets destroyed overtime.
Anonymous No.76597751
>>76597739
Lets be honest. Most compound movements are dangerous when people max out. They blame the movement instead of the intensity. Its like heavy sets of 5 with deadlift is one of the best strength builders there is. One rep max deadlift is the dumbest. Yet, so many people think maxing the deadlift is mandatory or something. Even professional powerlifters will only max out twice a year: nationals and worlds. They, the professionals, know how stressful maxing out the deadlift is. Yet some casual trainer will attempt it every week or so, snap their shit, and declare the deadlift dangerous.

Definitely not. When i snapped my shit up doing DLs I was fine for years doing leg press.

Started doing hyrox and literally within 2 weeks resnapped doing RDLs.

>lacks the mobility
But you develop the mobility by exercising. It's not like your height or whatever. You can change it. "I don't have the mobility for that" is another way of saying "I haven't trained for that." Going around saying that some exercises are untenable because "society lacks the mobility" is just saying that most people these days don't exercise. The implication is that these people can never reach that mobility, that they're just fucked for life, that there's no way to develop that mobility. And that's bullshit because average people are capable of insane feats of strength and athleticism if they train for it consistently, no matter their background.

Somehow my post about encouraging people to develop their ability to move instead of viewing themselves as fundamentally broken makes you angry. I am forced to conclude that you are either some kind of chiro practitioner who profits off of people perceiving themselves as broken or an assblasted autist who hates anything that conflicts with his conceptions of fitness.

The implication of "just teach them the hex bar" is that you shouldn't even try to get people to do normal deadlifts because they "lack the mobility." Words mean things.

Fucking idiot. If a person cannot perform an exercise due to, lets say, lack of mobility, what do you do? You have them perform an exercise that has a range of motion that they can safely perform. That is all he said. He didn't disagree with you, but you, through your inability to construct meaning from language, misunderstood him. Words have meanings, which you seem to struggle with. Words also create ideas, which you seem to completely incapable of understanding, because your understanding the the exact opposite of what he said. And you accuse me of being an autist? I accused you of being an idiot, with is evident from every single one of your posts.

>a range of motion that they can safely perform
This is what I have a problem with. The implication, again, is that some movements are inherently difficult or dangerous, regardless of intensity, and that mobility is a static attribute most people can't change, so one should just avoid certain movement types completely... which is ridiculous, because you can drop the intensity of a given exercise all the way until you can perform it and work from there, even if that means starting with an empty woman's olympic bar or whatever, instead of outright never even trying that movement. I don't know why this seems to make you so angry.

Stop hiding behind 'implications'. There are no implications, just your misunderstanding. He never said anything you claim he did. He never said some movements are dangerous. He never said mobility is a static attribute. He never said to avoid certain movements completely. You believe there are implications were there are none. And why does it make me mad? I hate people like you. The kind of person who causes problems just so they can be the person who has the solution. Or the type of person who misunderstands a person, claims they said something they didn't, just so they can be the person who has the solution or truth. Simply deceptive and dishonest. Hence why I accused you of being a retarded jeet.
