Can’t do it
I can’t do it. I can’t force myself to enjoy deenz. I tried so hard.
I have no problem eating canned tuna with rice, I just throw in some saffron and a bit of mayo with a minuscule amount of ketchup (the hidden umami flavor that they do in tuna onigiri over in Japan). But even an entire rice cooker full of rice mixed with one tin of deenz isn’t enough, the fishy taste is overpowering. And I’ve tried hotsauce, olive oil, and mustard tins.
Today I made my normal rice dish, and I added in everything I usually add to make my rice taste good. The saffron, the kimchi, even some butter and olive oil with a runny egg on top. But I mixed in a can of hotsauce deenz (I bought a thirty-two tin box so I need to use them up), and it just tasted like disgusting fish. My roommate actually came into the kitchen and yelled at me because of the sardine and kimchi smell.
I have to stick with tuna. I’m a failure.
