Yes it really is sad. What makes me sad/angry is how society enables this kind of behaviour.
Lots of people grow up with parents that have fallen through the cracks so to speak. They have been dragged up, didnt try at school because they saw no purpose for it and parents didnt care, then they have kids, zero education knowledge or wants for their kids to be better people
They might even be angry at the thought of their kids wanting to be something, they will see it as a betrayal of their lifestyle. If their kids wants more than what they have then it must mean the parents are losers and failures, so they will act like crabs in a bucket
They simply dont think or care and think feeding their kids refined sugar, mcdonalds, coca cola and takeaways (giving their toddlers the same slop they eat) is normal and fine
If you feed a kid this diet you might as well be idnucting them into a drug addiction for life. If you take any obese person on the street and ask them what their childhood diet was like you better believe theyll talk about all the junk food they ate. This made their developing brain develop around junk food in such a way that its very difficult for them to avoid it. Ive never been obese but I presume people that do get that bad will often feel like its a lost cause to fix themselves too and the stress and health conditions that comes with it likely results in further struggle in losing the weight
all because of jealous, uneducated parents that gave up a long time ago
