/FAT/ Fat Loss General
Previous thread: >>76635016
Gloink Queen Edition

>Who is /fat/ for?
For Huge Huffers, working towards a longer life and a better physique through meaningful hard-work, strategy, and dedication. This is not QTDDTOT, stick to questions on fat loss. Post height and weight when asking for advice.
Join our Fatty Contest: https://www.fattycontest.com/

>What do I do first?
1. Read https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage: https://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your TDEE: https://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/
Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.
4. Plan your weight loss: https://www.losertown.org/eats/cal.php
5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros), LoseIt (great for both), or Waistline (FOSS).

>Now what?
Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.
Read the /fit/ sticky: https://liamrosen.com/fitness.html

>DON'T
Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calories.
Eat processed foods.
Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, Starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself. Cheat days cheat only yourself.

>I'm quitting coffee, buying caffeine pills tomorrow
Just drink black coffee. Coffee itself has benefits outside of caffeine (neuroprotective, lowered mortality rate, etc).
Most places serve burnt shit black coffee, even bougie specialty coffee shops.
I bought a french press ($20) + ceramic burr hand grinder ($30) maybe 10 years ago and never looked back, use the Hoffman method to this day. It's insane how non-bitter properly brewed coffee can be, it literally tastes like chocolate or caramel (depends on beans). I brew one cup a day in the AM, and that's it. No anxiety problems, and on emergency overworked days I'll just drink a 2nd, MAYBE 3rd cup and I'm flying off the rails, then back to 1 cup.
It's a perfect sweet spot.

I am down to 250. Surprisingly kept most of my strength after my fast. My bench only went down 20lbs after my refeeds. Have not tested my deadlift bc i don't care anymore. I want the 195ish physique I had in the army where I could move a respectable amount of weight but I had abs and a sub 13 minitue 2 mile.

Yesterday, I told my therapist that I REALLY wanted to lose weight and he told me that eating slowly helps.
So, today I ate Salmon and Kimchi with ginger-tumeric herbal tea and I ate those really slowly with chopsticks and I actually feel full without feeling stuffed.

I really want to keep this up but I have a problem, and it's relapsing to my old bad habits (like snacking when i don't need to or, in this case, eating fast). I want to know how to manage it and create good habits on the way.

I think what matters is sustainability. What can you keep doing in the long run? Eating slowly is a gimmick that's gonna fall away in the long run. Do people eat less if they eat slowly, probably - I've heard that too - but you're better off counting calories or just eating small portions to lose weight. I eat pretty quickly but only get 500 calories per meal on this diet and I lose plenty of weight if I follow it.

Placebo. Meme. Grasping at straws does not help. Just accept you'll have to eat less and accept you'll be hungry, because you will be, that is a sign that you're in a deficit.
Remember all this meme shit like pounding gelatin and fiber, drinking 10L of water, eating slowly, none of that helps, if anything it makes things worse. Accept the hunger.

102.9 kg as of this evening.

Here's a link to my full spreadsheet:
https://tinylink.net/1Jdoy

The reason my calorie burn might be this huge is because I do 12h shifts in a cold storage warehouse where I keep marching at 3km/h while pushing 100kg cages into trailers or picking 10kg trays of carrots while putting up with 1Β°C temperature.

Why I do this? Here are my choices:
>Pay out of my pocket
>Go to the gym
>Move around
or
>Go to work
>Move around
>Get paid into my pocket
Second option makes more sense to me.

If you still doubt my claim then I encourage you to get yourself a Polar H10 Chest Monitor and try working at TESCO, Sainsburry, ASDA or whatever passes for supermarket warehouse in your country.

That won't stop muscle atrophy because your muscle load isn't stressful enough and your body will adapt to that load. Endurance-rooners have generally low muscle-mass from the even tougher longer cardio sessions.
If you want to stop muscle atrophy, you have to challenge yourself and get yer protein in.
You don't gotta go to the gym and lift, but at least some body weight exercises.
Cardio is a good workout for just one muscle: Your heart.
It's an important muscle and one you want being fit so by all means do some steady-state cardio it'll be fantastic for your health.
But it's not going to stop the rest of your muscles atrophing.

Pasta:1200 calories
1lb Ground chicken:600 calories
1/3lb Ground sausage:500 calories
1 cup Tomato sauce:160 calories
Total daily calories:2460, Maintenance calories 3350, Lost 890 calories

Todays meal really put into perspective the difference in calories meats can have. It's insane to me that a tiny bit of sausage can have almost as many calories as an entire pound of chicken.
As much as I love sausage I'm going to have to ditch it and stick with chicken/beef most of the time. I got full halfway through so saved the rest and ate it for dinner.
I feel like I'm starting to need less food to get that full feeling I crave. I definitely need to start incorporating veggies into my meals to help with that. Tomorrow I've got some homemade chili sloppa prepped. Think I'll be able to hit well under 2k this time.

It becomes less tedious as you build up a habit.
A lot of prepared stuff lists total calories per portion, so tracking those is very easy.
If you cook for yourself, you have the ability of counting literally everything that goes into the cooking.

Keep it simple and develop shortcuts that are easy to remember, and sticking to it will become much easier.

My question is do you think drinking some beers will fuck it? Could it be something to do with glycogen not catching up so im in fat burning mode even though im eating some carbs. Just dont eat more when eating a later dinner
Accept that you will be hungry, accept that you can't intuitively eat and lose weight because you're a fat fuck

Just eat less and deal with the consequences

I just gave up on myself. Never really having any social life kind of fed a vicious cycle. Who cared how fat I got if I never went out anyway? And the fatter I became, the harder it got to go out. Food was comforting, too. Always there, never judging, ready to provide satisfaction and comfort at any moment - however fleeting it actually was.
